Morrison is the biggest issue. He is an absolutely appalling leader - I cannot state that strongly enough.

I feel it’s beyond partisan politics. This bloke has failed the leadership test at almost every turn. I’d personally prefer Abbott as leader at the moment.

How often does a Prime Minister get the opportunity to redeem themselves after a disaster like the past bushfire season and then just blow it like that...
Whilst Abbot is polarising at least he had the courage to make an unpopular or dirty decision and live with the consequences.

The Libs have been a policy free zone beyond attack the opposition for at least the last five years and have been richly rewarded for it. It's little wonder that when called upon to actually govern they've come up wanting.

The absolute inability to simply LEAD is amazing to see. We honestly could not have a worse govt at this time.

"Now for disasfected workers about to lose their jobs" ..... (expecting some support to be announed here). ...

"we hope businesses give you the confidence that one day they will hire you again."

holy fu****. He may as well of said as you are let go businesses get a free giant boot to kick you out the door.

If I lose my job how long will the line be into centrelink to get on newstart or the dole or whatever they call it? And while I'm standing in that line how many people with covid-19 will be standing there with me? We just had to keep letting people in the country didn't we. A lot of people in the media complained about the restrictions being harsh early on and these same people are now critical that we let them in. We had Christmas Island we had quarantine sites but everyone bagged the government out about them. Sorry but I am pissed off right now. From the moment the cruise ship people came here we should have had every person coming into the country go through the quarantine process. ****in stay home if you don't need to go out morons. Stay home if you feel sick and get a check up asap.

January 23 i figured out this was going to be the worst thing to hit the world in a long time.

If we had closed the borders and put EVERYONE coming in in 14 days compulsory isolation we would still be open for business now - obviously industries like tourism would be hit but the rest of us would be going about our regular lives.

i knew - i harrased my relatives to stock up on some basics (specific baby formula thats hard to get and make sure you have a few weeks food)

im pretty sure im not 1/2 as smart as the people government has working for them.

normalcy bias is a hell of a drug!!

There is a strange sense of natural justice/karma about the fact the populist RW w***ers in charge of Aus, US and UK are the ones left holding the can now.
Lets see what you're truly made of.

My best wishes to everyone to get through this as best as we can. My comment above reflects a frustration with the direction of society/politics & I don't take any satisfaction from this situation. My hope is we can all learn to work together and come through with some valuable lessons learnt about the true nature of society and how to cooperate with & care for, each other.

One of the things I tell my clients (I'm a counsellor) is that most of everything can be boiled down to love or fear. Not love and hate because hate is fear based as are all our negative emotions deep down.

Love is opening, expanding, giving. Fear is contracting, closing down, putting up walls, making ourselves seperate.

Breathe, move, expand, give - kindness, compassion and all the things that feel expansive.

Stay safe, stay home.

i notice a lot of Asian people seem to be hoarding supermarket products and hiring buses and cleaning out rural stores, would it be worth having an advertising blitz to explain this is not necessary to stock up?

The Coles lady I spoke with today said the same boomers lining up for invalid hour, are coming back several times throughout the day, every day.

Yeah, I got the same story from a lass at Coles as well. We needed a leader to get on National Television with all the CEO's and head honchos of the supermarket chains and tell everyone that there is heaps of food and other essential items to last for a very long time and the only danger there is, is that if people go and panic buy, the supermarkets cannot physically keep up with restocking the shelves and the people that will suffer the most, will be the most vulnerable.

I didn't watch Q&A last night, but I am glad someone is asking the ****ing question

Senator Patrick asked Professor Kelly why Senator Bragg could not have been tested sooner; the current testing regimen limits tests to those who have travelled overseas within 14 days of the onset of symptoms, or come in contact with such a person.
"He had flu-like symptoms but he did not qualify for a COVID-19 test because he hadn't been in contact with anyone who was a known COVID-19 carrier," Senator Patrick said.
"A week later he became aware of others that had gone to a wedding that he had been to that had contracted coronavirus, and at that pointk, he did qualify for a test.

This is a little more reassuring at least. Seems legit.

Italy has started to see a decline in cases and deaths...only two days in a row but it is a start. They had 5500 new cases on 22/3 and yesterday 4789, So the lockdown is slowly working..lets see how they fair tomorrow, 14 days after the tougher measures were introduced.

And yet I know someone, who had not been in contact with anyone who had tested positive, and they were tested .I wonder what they told staff to get tested?

Yep, and they are spending big.......I heard over 200 each trolley load.

The AMA and doctors have been asking as a group for stronger isolation measures.
Government not listening.
Mixed messages on schools.
W e need strong leadership at this time, not this Mickey Mouse lot we have now.
Politics and Health do not mix.

Gawd locally, I know staff who are frontline, see positive patients. They are told one mask and apron per day.We have no supplies.

Yet government says that’s not true.....I trust what I see Not a politician.

Maybe the plan is Herd Immunity.

I understand that....

The toilet paper stuff is insane. The rest of it I tend to give people leeway as long as they are civil. If I was scared and had kids to feed or was old and basically alone and not quite understanding what is going on then I might panic a bit as well.
