Dunno. I think a real safety net meant for its intended purpose would literally drive innovation through the roof. You either have faith in humanity or not. UBI vote yes.
Not the bullshit dole or not let's hide behind the masks and this covid horse sh*t.
I'm up for a real debate. Let's go. UBI vs Survival of the fittest. Take your positions and society votes. Debate away.
But one thing we need to agree on is humanity wins.
So UBI and dignity vs US style gun fight
Look at the money required. UBI in theory is nice, everyone gets a safety net. It isnt feasible or possible to pay that kind of money. Where will it come from?

The reality is it just isnt possible for everyone to have a safety net. That isnt fair, i dont even agree thats how it should be, it isnt. BUT thats life/reality.

UBI will require Amazon, Google, FB and these places actually paying tax. Thats where the money will come from. Good luck getting it, it just wont happen. Further to this, they employ so many people, their argument is they've done their bit.

Why work if you dont need to? Innovation will go backwards for that reason, you cant just give money. People need to earn things. Human nature

As for having faith in humanity, LOL, where have you been this year? How could you possibly have that? Majority of people in favour of shutting civilisation, preventing low income households from earning an income. The same ******* idiots who panic buy toilet paper then complain at "all the people at the shops" as if they were allowed out but not the others. So no, safe to say humanity did its dash with me this year

I'm not really into conspiracy theories and the like, but seeing a nice stock of toilet paper in the bunker of a doomsday prepper on tv while we were in the midst of the toilet paper wars in Melbourne made me think they know something I don't.
Nah, those people are just nutjob crazies. They would stockpile 20 life jackets just in case the world floods despite living in the middle of the desert.

On a different note i caught up with some mates this weekend for the first time in 14 months, went to the pub for some beers and food and not once did any of us wear a muzzle and the staff didn't care either, didn't have to wear it to go to the toilet or the bar or to order food and my god it felt bloody great to feel normal again.

28th of october people could ditch the muzzle indoors if they are dining, no cases have occured since so why is dumbo insisting on muzzles to be still worn indoors anywhere, if there was going to be an outbreak then people inside pubs, cafes, restaurants etc would've provided it but they haven't.

This "reset" requires our current elites giving up their multiple mansions, commercial property, private jets etc. It isnt happening. Why would they do it

I agree, it's not going to happen. Just pointing out that if you think less possessions are good that's fine and dandy but what's with some people thinking we all have to feel the same way? Personally I hate the whole minimalist thing, I feel like it's just another of those things to dehumanise us. Having said that, being a hoarder is not healthy either (IMO). Just let people do what they feel comfortable with instead of trying to force ideologies on us all the time.

I've been going raw outdoors for the last couple weeks after a GP told me that we could do so for medical reasons without providing a certificate. The only negative feedback I've received has been a few dirty looks from those who were muzzled. Meh.

The outdoor mask policy was always based on irrational fear.

The current justification for the indoor mask policy is pathetic given that Victoria hasn't had any new cases in weeks and no evidence of community transmission. I'll gladly accept scientific justification for the policy if it's available....thus far, all I hear is crickets.

You’ll own nothing and be happy? Life is a struggle. Humans are designed to work hard, often through adversity. Busting your ass to put food on the table, clothes on your back and a roof over your head is what people do everyday. They do it for their families but also to contribute to society. That is purpose. I’ve never known anyone that has no purpose to be happy. This describes the youth of today who’ve had it so easy that they desperately cling to any trendy cause for a sense of purpose and belonging. The dissatisfaction they have with their lives makes a global utopia of UBI and equal outcomes very attractive. But I’m reality, it doesn’t work.

Spot on completely. Also ties in perfectly with these no hopers who cheer covid numbers on like a hobby. Been saying this from thè start, these people have nothing in their lives so this makes them feel part of a team. "We can beat this".

Deluded. It'll be back next year, what have you beaten? Its only beaten when you losers find a new hobby (please find something soon ffs)

It’s nauseating. I wonder how they will all react when our own version of UBI dries up and the vaccine doesn’t eradicate the virus like you said. Our communities are being decimated on a number of fronts and it’s scary to think that the way we live won’t return to pre 2020 normality.

They won’t
They’ll just do it to the rest of us poor plebs
Especially now with their Covid test run proving the majority of sheep will swallow anything they’re told
What scares me is the you’ll own nothing
Does this mean they take away the house that I have worked hard full time for 40 years to afford ?
I won’t be giving it up without a fight and If that costs me my life, well I wouldn’t want to live in their boring socialist utopia

From what I understand, they’ll wipe all your debt and in return, they’ll take ownership of everything you’ve ever worked for. You’ll still be able to use those things, but they won’t be yours.

Which means they can take anything they want away for any reason they come up with and give it to someone else at any time 😡

Technically we already have ubi it's the dole. Just a matter of arguing numbers. Otherwise if you want survival bid the fittest be prepared for a crime wave.

Somebody will own it. In this case the state. Communism 101 straight out of the Red army playbook circa 1920 which I said back in March. Add in all the tracing bullshit and surveillance and it's a nightmare. * knows what the obsession with a vaccine is about.
You can only hope common sense prevails and this s**t ends and a fairer world is built.
But like posters above have said it's unlikely

A “Reset” doesn’t work like that. Not in the way the UN is thinking anyway. They’ll crash the world economy and at least 90% of humanity will go broke. Whoever doesn’t die in the fighting over crumbs will then be resettled in shithouse living arrangements similar to a Judge Dredd like scenario. All of the surviving elites will be fine while us rats work as slaves for our survival.

I’m not against a UBI in theory, especially with automation an AI stealing our jobs. However, when welfare comes into it there is always a master. Through out history masters have mostly been evil *ers who don’t care about you if you aren’t productive or have an opinion.

UBI will never work. Ever.

It will kill innovation and drive. Only lifes losers are in favour of it and can never explain where the money comes from

20m adults here (guessing). $500 a week UBI costs $520,000,000,000 a year. Yeah that seems feasible /s

Id love to see unneeded greed like bezos taken out of society but where do you draw the line on what someone can keep? Who decides what we can earn. UBI will never happen and its the single dumbest idea man has ever come up with

We need to remember we're heading down the cashless/moneyless society path right now, So it looks like it will be some type of digital currency they'll try to bring in.

They're using social injustice as the excuse to bring UBI in by claiming they'll redistribute wealth by removing the ownership of private property hence "Well own nothing", Which is complete bullshit when there is more than enough wealth amongst all of the billionaires in the world to put an end to poverty.

All these evil bastards want to do is increase their own wealth in the long run by controlling people & resources.

Not only do they want all the wealth. That isn’t enough. They want power and control of everything as well.

I've never worn one outside since it was introduced, always thought it was stupid and as for indoors i don't even wear one there mainly because i hate my face being covered and then i found an exemption i actually qualified for since i have been to the doctors about the issue, not even needing a certificate was icing on the cake for me considering my doctor didn't want to give me one because he was too frightened of getting in trouble if the wrong person saw the exemption and reported him ( yep they were his words ) used to wear it around my neck so the scared felt at ease, but once i saw that people didn't have to wear it indoors at pubs, cafes, restaurants etc i discarded the muzzle completely.

Now for all those people who have removed their masks outdoors for the first time today ( not directed at you evolved by the way ) ..................

1. Proves that you only ever wore it because someone ordered you too.
2. You only removed it because that same person gave you permission too.
3. It was never about the virus.
4. Because if it was about the virus you would continue to wear it outdoors regardless

so now we have established that it was never about the virus as to why you wore the muzzle

WHY ARE YOU STILL WEARING IT INDOORS IF IT'S NOT ABOUT THE VIRUS BECAUSE SHOULDN'T THAT BE THE REASON YOU ARE WEARING IT

Had a visit from a relie on the weekend. He arrives at my house with a mask on, I tell him he can take it off. He does and puts it on my kitchen bench along with keys, phone and so on (spreading all those 'virus germs' onto my kitchen bench). As the conversation progresses it turns to the virus and I make my opinions clear, he thinks it's more serious and all Dan's moves were correct, can't be too careful and so on. When he leaves he gives me a hug and a kiss!

Now I have no problem with the mask on the bench or the hug and kiss (since I believe the virus is of no major concern) but what sort of cognitive dissonance does he have if he believes the virus is of serious concern but spreads his germs to my kitchen bench then hugs and kisses me?!?!?!

So many people not engaging their brains atm.

Inability to think for yourself.

Some of my mates who I'd never expect to go along with this s**t are still saying what they were in March. "Just lock down and we can get back to normal quicker" re SA's recent disaster. WTF, it's been 9 months of this, we tried it. Everyone adhered to it and it did not work. We did your way, now's the time to stop being selfish and try ours. Open the * up and see if people becomes happier overall in 3 months. With honest reporting (not hysteric "Cases EXPLODED IN SA" with 3 new ones, it would be interesting to see how fast we return to normal. It would be very quick, those who can't think for themselves would be shocked just how quick they forget how serious they thought the virus was
