i don't know if dodgy is the right word. i don't think it's as black and white as "he got 18 months last time, he should get more this time".
maybe last time was a much more serious charge than this time. ie. using regumate on a colt isn't as serious as ..... (whatever the last charge was - i don't know).
just playing devil's advocate. i just don't think things are black and white and each case should be judged on its merits.
there are a lot of grey areas in horse racing. trainer's are allowed to use certain treatments, but not allowed to present horse's at the races with those treatments in their blood. that alone is asking for errors, as different horses get rid of those treatments at quicker rates.
i think treatments should be banned or not banned. one or the other.
