So you seriously saying Cotchin is inferior in being explosive, winning more of his own ball in a contest, less power, speed, and ability to break open the stoppage that makes him an inferior damaging impactful player?

Dangerfield has Cotchin and nearly every player in the league covered in being Explosive, Powerful, with Speed, and pack breaking ability.

Funny how Bazzar says each to their own, yet when we provide a case for why WE believe Danger is slightly more impactful, he goes and has a fit and morphs into a fiend... Hahaha!!!

Anyways, I can see Danger/Cotch and even Brad Ebert one day going into the next decade as the best mids in the competition. It'll become a great argument when their careers are almost at it's conclusion.

Am I missing something?

Interesting choice voted danger due to bias however would love either. Danger has more inside game than cotch but cotch has a better outside game imo. Could you imagine both in the same midfield. Danger smashing a stoppage and delivering to cotch on the outside. Enough to make me want a Vic v anyone state of origin as that would be the only way we would ever see it unfortunately

You are kind of painting Cotchin as an outside player there. He imo is as inside as it gets but then he is now also adding that link up outside part to his game.

Lets not get caught up in thinking inside = good, outside = bad.

There is a lot more to the game than just those things.

That said Cotchin isn't even the most inside player at richmond (tuck is)

Equally you wouldn't say Tuck is the better player

Danger. More damaging, explosive and powerful.

He has to be one of the strongest midfield players in the competition for someone only 22. His ability to break away from a stoppage running at full pace is scary. Who knows how good he could possibly be when he takes his game to another level in the coming years.

He's gotta break tags though.
That's the key.

True. But he is fairly young still and with a bit more experience he will learn as he matures and end up being one of the most damaging midfielders in the competition in a few years time.

One would hope so but Nicky Dal never really worked out how to shake the hard tag.

Yeah but Dal Santo though, while he is an A grade midfielder, he isn't really that damaging as a player compared to Dangerfield who can cut you up when allowed time & space like in last years PF against Hawthorn when he got Adelaide back in the game.

Last night shows why Cotchin is better. He's been getting those tags for 3 years, and he's still outperformed Dangerfield, who has run around unchecked.

So the last game of each player will clearly show who is better?

Poll could swing quite a few times over the course of the season if that is the case.

This was not an isolated event for Dangerfield. It happens alot, he goes missing. Cotchin hasn't played a game that bad for years.

Wouldn't read too much into last night. Think there were rumours about pre match he was struggling with the flu. He will bounce back. Hocking also does a fairly good job of shutting down the best mids.

Just reckon Danger when he's having a bad trot needs to find other ways to influence the game. Maybe put a block on too give Thompson and co some extra space. He seems like a see ball, get ball type of player to me but yeah still 22 and learning the game.

Reckon this year we have seen a bit of a reversal. Last year Danger was getting plenty of help from Thompson and co and didnt need to stand out so much. Cotch on the other hand was more noticable as teammates around him wernt doing as much.

This year with the emergence of some young Tiger mids and improvement from recruits in Grigg, Houli and Foley back Cotch hasnt had to stand out as much. Where as the Crows midfield seem to have gone backwards fast therefore Danger is sticking out like dogs balls.

Both still super players and i'll still take Cotchin any day ;)
