He's not injured, why do people here try to be so misleading with made up lies

Anyone who seriously believes this is mental ? Go to the game and watch him he barely runs he has lost all his speed he can't move out of traffic and he is spending heaps less time in the midfield, he injured his left knee against freo and there's no surprise he was getting 30-40 a week the 10 weeks leading upto it and has struggled since, he is 100% injured but Aslong as he gets the best defensive mid and cant do more damage keep playing him ... Just hope it comes good soon without surgery

I think he's either slightly injured or carrying some sort of illness (glandular fever maybe?). He just doesn't have his usual zip to get out of trouble and his kicking has been bad all year as well. You don't lose talent though and he'll be back to his best at some stage.

Yes we're winning without him but we won't beat the best sides without Cotch, Lids and Martin all playing well.

Probably the fact that he was getting 30+ disposals a game and one of our best player until the Freo game when he got injured. Since his injury he has been well below is top form. Makes you think that he is still carrying an injury.
Remember Jack in 2011? No one knew why he wasn't playing as good as he should and they denied that he was injured and then he had surgery on 5 different injuries in the off season.

Seriously if anyone believes he's injured is mental!

Players like cotchin don't get risked!

first month or so of this year his brownlow odds actually shortened but it's been down since then

Of course players like him get risked everyweek. Half fit superstars are better then decent players.

If its a knee that needs a scope the club had to weigh up if we can hold up without Cotch for a few weeks? In hindsight the last two games would be perfect after the bye but lets be honest Richmond is always a chance to lose them and the next three games for finals are too important.

The reality is having Cotchin out there makes the opposition play him as if he is close to his best as they simply cannot risk him playing anywhere near his best as he will tear sides apart. This means they have to tag or at least plan for him. It means Martin, Ellis, Edwards ect are givin more freedom to impact the game. He might be getting frustrated and we would all love to see him at his best but he is being the ultimate team man right now.

Obviously carrying something or severley down on form, but gee how good was that goal on the boundary in the last???? Vintage 2012 cotchin, made boyd look 3rd rate was awesome.

You don't hyper-extend your knee like he did without doing some sort of damage, hence him missing the week after doing that. Since then his impact on games has been much lower than it was prior to the injury.

If he isn't injured then can you give us your reasoning as to why he has dropped away. It's not the tagging as has already been mentioned last year he showed he was not able to be shut down that way.

It'd be good to actually know what was wrong with him. It's kind of frustrating watching him plod around looking a shadow of his 2012 form.

Let's just put it down to an injury (that the club won't reveal because then every shitful tagger will prod at it) plus the fact that he is being absolutely ****ing mauled every game and it's being allowed. Honestly re-watch the Dogs game, biggest bunch of scraggers I've ever seen. He is an unprotected species.

Unprotected? Last I checked this morning he is ranked 2nd in the league for free kicks! Think of another excuse guys and girls

Double checked, after one of today's games he's ranked 4th in the league for free kicks! Hardly unprotected

Just because he is 4th in free kicks does not mean he is given a dream ride by the umpires. After re-watching the game last night, I could mount a case for cotch or lids to get a free kick at every stoppage they were involved in. Picken and lower are absolutely pathetic, would hold an arm or basically give them a bear hug on every occasion. Umpires need to pull out 4-5 free kicks to cotch or lids in a row as hopefully that will stop their pathetic acts of 'contributing' to their team cause they have no skill to do anything else.

Yeah but if you watch closely enough you could make a case for pretty much every player that gets tagged. Cotchin gets a pretty good rub from the umpires it's just when they miss a really obvious one everyone gets up in arms.

He has bruised bone around the knee , he never hyper extended it .
It has been stated many times including last night by Richo .
It is unlikely playing will further hinder it and it will rectify in time regardless of playing or not .

Depends how serious it is, if it's just some soreness from the hyperextension against Freo then maybe lighten his training, or if even more serious give him the week off against the Saints.
He's still got his touch by hand and the desire to win the hardball, he's just got no run, sprint and sidestep as we watched him dominate with last year.
Still, he's playing average and we're winning, that's a terrific sign.

I heard that he did hyper extend it last night and frankly he did do it. That action with the shape of the tibia is exactly the type of motion you get when you hyper extend your knee.

Thanks doc. Yeah I was fairly sure it was bone bruising just didn't know whether it was opinion or fact. Do you know how long this injury will take until Cotchin is 100%?
