Thoughts on Ben Cavarra? Looks very similar to Hrovat last year. Think he'll push his way into the top 30 by the end of the year.

I think he will push top 30. Wins plenty of the ball, gets clearances and can play forward. Will have a better write up on him when I release my second round.

Prestia and Hrovat are both good comparisons.

Edit* Second round in now up. Cavarra currently not in it. But he will be after I tidy it up a bit.

Second Round is now up. Might be a few errors that I will go over after work. :thumbsu:

There might be a few noticeable prospects who have not been included in the second round. Some will be included later and others I might not be convinced about and will wait till after the Champs. :thumbsu:

Well done!! I think you are spot on with most of your picks including pick number 30. Has a lot of potential.

Thanks for your work.

Last year Fremantle left their search for a KPF until the second round. Then when picks in the 20's came the other clubs sucked almost all of the prospects from the table, and by the time our selection came, the choices were very limited. I am not sure Freo would risk that happenning again, and if the cards fell near your predictions Conlon, Hourigan or Harvey would be decent options for us with our first pick.

At the first round would you see that as stretching for needs too much?

Could they see game time in their first seasons?

On Hourigan, I don't have him too high as of yet but that will likely change at the conclusion of the champs.

Hourigan would be the next best KPF after Boyd and might slip to Freo's first pick. Harvey and Conlon are not looking like first round draft picks but both should be considered second round prospects. I would consider taking Harvey with your first rounder as fair reach but I could understand if Conlon was taken there.

Hourigan might play a fair bit but the others might only play a game or two.

Having just read 'The Kicking Kings' article on afl.com and also when watching, the lions are not well versed at foot skills, or by hand for that matter. Of Sheed and Dunstan who do you rate higher, or are they both fairly high skills wise by hand and foot. Or are there that really do stick out that might be around our second pick? I am of the opinion we in desperate need of inside grunt but also skill.

along with some pace and a marking forward :P

As last year, the list is long when it comes to needs. Desperate need of some A class players. Not too sure if they're there to be honest, some very good B+ but not elite. Do love watching Mayes foot skills though so he might be one that adds some class.

yeap as has been mentioned plenty of times our rebuilding phase has occurred at as bad a time as any

I'd be going for Sheed. Both are damaging but Sheed has better composure imo.

Alex Spina is one who could be available at our second round pick. At this stage I'd have no problem selecting him over our academy players with our second rounder. He is a ball winner who is damaging and can impact up forward.

Leuy and Hanley would be close. Rich and Redden have potential, but they just aren't living up to it at the moment.

I feel with the whole 'foot skills' thing. This is why Docherty should be playing in the midfield and not starting as the sub. He has the potential to surpass all of Rich, Redden and Rockliff.

Sure has. Imagine if we had the likes of Harley Bennell, Coniglio or Patton. Ah well, not much use in worrying about it now.

Any hope of Luke Mcdonald falling to our second pick?
If he does who do you think we would take with our first pick?
If we do have to take Mcdonald with our first any hope of Lewis (Boomer) Taylor being there at our second pick? Could slide like hrovat did.

Theres no chance that McDonald will fall to your second round pick. Too good of a talent.

There is a chance that Taylor could slide to your second round pick. Would not surprise me at all.

is there any reason why you didn't take hrovat?

I would of thought Ben Kennedy was the one or Hrovat but, obviously Garner must have something we need and to good to pass

Yeh didn't think so, how much do you rate McDonald? Really hope taylor falls to our second pick

I think he'd be a chance to go between picks 3-6 if it wasn't for the Father Son.
If we can use our second pick on mcdonald, who do you think we would take with our first pick?

would you say the same about Mitch Honeychurch aswell?

After the qld boys have played against the top div teams and now getting very badly beat by Tas our two academy hopefuls in Tickner and Conway would be dropping in the draft IMO. I wasn't of the opinion that they would have been anyway as Qld players in general aren't rated that highly anyway. There hasn't been much said about either throughout the champs thus far. I know that some here on Bigfooty see at least one of them going second round but I would be suprised if that happened and possibly third to fourth round. What are your thoughts?

I think Conway is shaping up as a rookie pick, possibly the same with Tickner. Maybe Freeman as a third round pick.

I have been of the same opinion, obviously I'm not a recruiter but as I have said before Qlders aren't highly regarded. Andrew Boston went as a rookie last year and he had a fairly good champs and tested well.
