Anyway,

At the moment in their careers, Coughlan would be better than Wells.

But neither of them compare to Ball. Ball is miles ahead of both of them at the moment.

Wells has much more improvement than Coughlan and i think will end up being the better player. Wells could be as good as Ball, but i dont think Coughlan will ever be as good as Ball.

I am one of Balls biggest fans but I fail to see how when both are fit they are not very simlar players let alone Ball being "miles ahead"

Add the fact Cogs abosutly pants Ball in Richmond lost to Saint Kilda this year and you Cog hate rings true.

I like Coughlan, but Wells would fit our needs better at this point. The former is more steady and consistent, but the latter is the far more dangerous and unpredictable player.

Were I starting a side from scratch, however, I'd probably run with Coughlan.

23yo coming of his best game, 20yo coming of his 2nd quite one in a row.

Absolutely nothing alike in styles, physique etc etc.

Wells by a frickin long way. Footy people and their utter inability to look back more than 7 days is one of lifes great mysteries.

Anyone who would take Coughlan either supports Richmond (faie enough, he is a keeper and you love him) or stupid, and I mean that. When Wells is 23 and in his 6th year on the list, he will be a top liner.

The Richmond trolls must be getting to you... Most of the time you talk sense, but here you're just coming off sounding like Bentleigh.

I do love Wells..... think he'll be a great player and an excitement machine...

But....

Mark Coughlan will be a more important and consistant and bigger ball winner than Wells ever will!

Mark Coughlan is almost the perfect midfielder, he's hard at it, wins his own ball, gets the loose ball, goes inside, goes outside, neat skills, hard bumps, takes a couragous grab, is a leader of men, tackles hard and is only just turned 23 years old who has just missed a whole season of footy!!!

He's back baby, and he's ready to be where he was heading before the OP, in the games elite midfielders!!!

Cogs is an absolute superstar

Coughlan is easily better than ball, and wil always be

Easily better than Wells, and will always be

Isn't better than Hasl as yet, but will be.

You do realise Cogs will win a brownlow?

OH MY GOD.....nicely said i agree with you completly coughlan is a absoulte superstar and he is one of the ebst in the afl by a mile not as good as judd but on the way

Look the answer is simple. I go watch every game i can 3 a week in fact. Bentleigh Mate? I am with you Mark Coughlan is a better player. Before you people start saying oh Yes i am a Richmond fan i might be. However Wells is a good player but on form at this stage you gotta pick Cogs? When i see a good player i say it Richmond or not. If i did not follow eather side my answer would be the same. :D

Another dog night for Wells.

Still a very promising player but i wouldn't swap him for Cogs.

Who is leading the poll? Yes that is right, Coughlan. This is the true indicator, everyone here sees them play every week and would know who is better

Ah but you see this is where you people fail time and time again. We cannot look into the future and see how Wells will be affecting games in 3 years time can we? So therefore on potential Wells is quite the better player but on effect to date it would be coughlan because when he was Wells' age Wells was just reaching maturity and studying VCE.
