Someone help an old man out here. WTF does "elite" mean? I am kind of assuming it means "would star in any side regardless of how successful or otherwise they were"? If thats the case, there are very very few "elite" players in the whole bloody comp IMHO.

I think Hyde is turning into a star this year.

I'm watching the Dogs replay right now and his run and passing are simply awesome. If he can get 20 possies per game instead of 14, then he would go a long way to covering some of Nathan Brown's loss.

I've been saying for a while now but I think Chris Hyde's bets position is HFF with only spells in the middle. Without having a great preseason he has still imporved alot on last year. Has kicked goals in every match I think and kicked 3 on the weekend. He backs himself, takes them on and is a very good running shot at goal. He also led the assist for us on the weekend with four!

yeah Hydey is a dangerous forward and would be handy for 5 minutes in the middle while our main midfielders are resting

you don't see good average players taking the oppostion on everyweek and kicking classy goals and wrong footing the opposition. I rate him a very talented player.
i see it every week sheesh krakouer pettifer ring any bells how about tivendale. all their careers they have been ordinary and invariably go missing when you need them to stand up the most.yet they all do some nice things that is usually enough to win the blind over.

not as consistently and classy as hyde

Hyde has been consistent this year and kicks his goals at crucial stages of the game.

He kicked 2 in the last quarter against the Dogs trying to get us close enough to win.

there is no way in the world hyde would make it in the starting 22 of any club

he is a good player and great at taking players on and being evasive and his skills are pretty good too but his problem is when the other team has the ball he simply cant run fast anymore trying to catch them
he needs to pull his finger out of his arse and do the hard yards as well as just receiving the ball and then he might develop into a top class footballer

he would look even better in stronger teams. Of course he would make any other team

earth to Richo, he is touted as one of the hardest trainers and "triers". Gotta feeling the finger pulling is present and what you see now is 100% effort. Unfortunately his 100% effort has players he is chasing pulling away from him like he is standing still. He is filling a hole while TW develops a youngster that conforms to TW's formula. That formula has the words Fast and Skilful all over it. ;)

he's a future player and I saw a player pulling away from Deledio the other day too. I think you forgot about the fatigue factor, because Hyde is fairly quick

There's been a changing of the guard of the AFL elite over the last couple of years.

From: Hird, Voss and Harvey
To: Goodes, Judd and Hyde:eek:
