Hyde got delisted and then redrafted. Shows where he was and is at and how far he still has to go.
Liked his game yesterday. Just needs to produce it more than once or twice a season now. Geelong game last year was a prime example.

Well I know there were some Chris Hyde baggers over summer, saying he wont be anything more than a fringe player in a few years time and what not, but one thing we all agreed on was that he is a work horse, and this season has added some real run and class to his game. I personally noticed that he was doing this last season before the injury put him out of form a bit, but he is starting every game on the ball and has been a vital cog in our wins so far this season.

Yet, no-one outside the club seems to have really heard of him, and oppositions dont seem to be paying him respect. He will be tagged by the opposition come next year if he keeps this form up.

He is kicking goals as well, which is something we really do lack from oour midfield. Could he possibly move into the top bracket of midfielders at our club, or in the league even?

Thoughts on Hydey?

Bwahhaahhaaaa....man, do yourself a favour, take a long hard look at yesterdays last quarter and see who had the ball when he f***ed it up and who had it after he ****ed it up and you might understand how ridiculosus you sound. Do you ever wonder why the opposition dont pay him respect? Here is a tip they watch the game that you obviouslydont wacth. FFS do you have any idea?
Hey plough its ok to tell the players to break the lines at all costs. but there is something called smarts that need to be also prevalent, when the time comes where players should know when its fit to break them instead of breaking defenders balls by turning the ****ing thing over. How long has this guy been learnng? well how long do you need to learn yourself Plough? Just ask the irishman who was "on him", how easy it was to ice the game and get the BOG. ;)

Good for you dude. I bet you needed a substitute for the chaff huh?
Dont forget, 2009 - 2011. By then he will be a veteran, 10 year player who would have filled a spot for a while. I hope he wins a B&F for you too. You do know how those awards are handed out on the back of corn flakes packets, nowadays dont you?
Yeah, ok, he is class with a capital C, fills the opposition with headaches on how not to curb his line breaking runs, since they know that 8 out of 10 of them end up in a shot for goal for them. ;)

hey mate, maybe you should go to the official rfc site. You will get to see what colour our jumper is and what our players look like for the first time :thumbsu:

yeah no probs. You know what the colour is and you most definetely know who what our players look like. You're the best. Now piss off and let people that know about who we need to win and become a "force" talk, and stick to talking to those who "like" players for other reasons.
Dont worry Hyde will get a 10 year AFL career, good for him. Right place at the right time syndrome. Goes hand in hand with the tigers over the stretch.
But hey i know why he is so precious to you. He is on the verge of eliteness....;)

Psst, earth to dip stick. Now listen up and listen closely dude.
The numbers are 2009 to get involoved and 2011 for the maybe party.
So tell us wise one, if 2009 is the number to get involved, how do you bolster your side with the best young talent until that time comes?
Hint: you keep madtigers fav players in the side., go for a few wins against an arch enemy, keeps the flags waving and the puds being ****ed and you come out with some sugar coating and they buy it eveyt time. Lets face it, they bought the Spud for 5 years didnt they, so i am tipping they will be buy anything we sell them, dont you? ;)

You're a moron. You are pretty much saying we need to rebuild 3/4 of our list. You really can't witness the potential of players by watching game highlights on tv. If we listened to you we wouldn't make the finals for the next decade. We have a good list to build on and it's our future. I go to the games and I like what I see. You are deaf dumb and blind and think you can judge our team lol

Hyde will never be elite, whatever that means in football terms, but the little fella is proactive, and we've never been able to teach that down at Punt Road. He's a good little bit player, and good teams need guys like Hyde.

LOL, been judging it for the last 20 years and yes we have a good list to build on. What you dont understand dip stick is that what you suggest as your "favs" and what others suggest are about to beocome "elite", makes us a laughing stock, when you look and see who are the elite and how long it took for the rest of the league to see that they were. Keep sleeping. Just watch how the opposition put the super dleuxe tag on Hyde. You will eventually understand who they want to end up with the ball, when we are running it out of defence. Makes the stats look good dont it? malaperda;)

It's players like Hyde who are taking us places. Wake up

right now, if there isnt some kind of plan in place, by way of blooding players slowly for the future. The only place Hyde is going to be intrumental in taking us is top 3 draft pick. Which aint a bad thing, i will take it and another ingeneous marketing ploy pays off for Plough. How to make to make a player look good when he is just filling time. Lets put it this way, McGuane for me was below zero last year, and in the first 2 games I have seen more upside in his game, than i have seen from Hyde in the last 5 years. Thats taken 1 and a bit years, not a whole career.
BTW let me guess, Pets is another of your favs huh? You can pick the delusionals from a long way away. You see, he didnt get the lucky breaks this week, and you can see how "effective" was.;)

Gutsy effort to play under those circumstances yesterday and still contribute...I thought he played well considering.

He'll never be elite, but it's good to have a situation where your fringe onballers are capable of doing damage occasionally. Hyde is the sort whose endurance, willingness to take on the opposition and reasonable finishing skills, can get under the opposition's guard.

If the poor bugger can get a break on the injury front, he'll be a solid contributor more often.

well gee, I rate hyde as one of our most important young players and no one suits our future game style more than him. He brings a bit of excitement to our team with his risk taking and goal kicking. You obviously don't go to many games do you?

that's the thing, he never really stuffs it up and he sets up the team pretty much everytime with his accurate kicking. Great pace and courage too. Wrong foots his opponents everytime he goes on a run and has kicked several excellent goals over the last 2 years. You are just another Bentleigh. No idea and No passion. You just come out with crap and tell us to rebuild year after year. Some sort of stupid joke really

Good solid player though has some flaws that haven't really been worked out by the opposition. He generally wrong foots guys because he doesn't have a right foot and as soon as people work this out he might be in some trouble. Hyde's the kind of guy you need around a club, someone versatile that can play up forward and take a spell on the ball/wing in a midfield rotation.

He does have a right foot. When he wrong foots the opposition he is usually going to kick on his left side anyway. He wrong foots them because there is no options upfield. He's the perfect player for our attacking game plan

Well said.

Was playing really well in the first half of '05 before the head clash.

Was playing really well in the first half of '06 before he injured his shoulder.

A fit Hyde is easily in our best 22

Love his run and carry and the fact that he backs himself in.

His spark(along with Lids) got us back in the game against Sydney.

Looks set for a good season.

foot soldier. good ordinary sums him up.deserves his place on list in front of some because of an excellent work ethic.
while the hydes of this world are our elite or best 22 we will struggle.
