This is a real occurance, and spoken word for word
but as for the outcome, well jeez i hope its not true

a friend of mine's mother was at a midweek race meeting last week and found a mans wallet on the ground, she picked it up, checked the id and looked for the man

the wallet contained thousands of dollars
she found him only a few minutes later
the man was of arabic decent, and offered to give my friends mum money as a reward, she wouldnt accept
he offered a number of times, but still she wouldnt accept any money

in the end the man offered her a tip, and this is a word for word quote, he said "dont go to the melbourne cup or any big events in november"

Dearie me people...............not even that 13yo Carlton tosspot would be stupid enough to fall for that.
But I wont criticise. After all, you're an Essendon supporter.

****!

I was just about to post the exact same thing and I saw yours and wondered what the hell was going on!

It's probably some stupid rumour that's spreading around, but Ill tell you my story anyway - - I was at school the other day and my friend told me that his sister was in London the other week when she found a wallet full of money as well  she found the guy later on and he couldnt thank her enough. He told her that he'd give her some money if he didnt need it urgently. So he gave her some info he thought would be 'handy' - don't be in London on November 22.

Basically the same story as yours Walshy, but different date.

That's what I heard anyway, and my friend doesnt usually crap on about stuff like that.

Whoa!! Some spooky stories doing the rounds now.... I just reckon these arabic guys should take better care of their wallets, I mean how many are being lost all over the world right now. :)

Thank goodness for them there are a few honest people around :)

Of course it is not true.

Imagine the carnage is the Melbourne Cup were to be a target of terrorism?

Could anyone, no matter how sick, bitter and twisted, really hate Lillian Frank, Peter Hore, Tim Webster and the Channel Ten "celebrities" roped in for the big day?

Oh dear....come to think of it, stay the hell away from Flemington!

I doubt it is true, mainly because the attack previous was VERY well planned, and I doubt anyone involved would be clumbsy enough to lose they're wallet, and then wouldn't tell them not to be somewhere as they might alert the authoities. Still, any major event could be a target. Scary to think

Top stuff, ant!

And how nice of them too .... heartless killers who (apparently in two weeks time) will kill thousands of people without a second thought, putting it all at risk in order to care for one stranger's safety.... awwww.
