Could Josh Kennedy...

They would if he was in the PSD. But they wouldn't offer much for a guy that injured during trade week.

Hansen goes allright when he makes it onto the park.

Could Carlton giving up such a talented KPP in getting Judd ......... bite them on on the arse.
Oh geez, last year we gave up a dud who would never be anything and were accused of pumping him up to make it sound like a decent deal. This year we have made a mistake.

90% of this place are experts in hindsight.

Only those that said that we would regret this because Kennedy was a gun prior to the trade, should have any sort of input.

Its kinda funny cos the one massive hole in Carltons side atm is a big CHF. Fishers more suited to the third tall role and Hartlett cant stay fit for more then 2 games.

I dont think he would be half the player he is now if he was wat Carlton. There fitness program would of ended his career before it began

DOnt knowwhy people are comparing Kennedy to Riewoldt.

He has been good but Riewoldt was a star first season up - kicking bags of 5,6 and 7 in his 1st year.

Kennedy needs to have more impact on the scoreboard.

Eagles have never had a high scoring CHF.

Exactly. Once Kennedy starts kicking bags the lid should come off, but atm he is progressing very very nicely.

Josh Kennedy is the best mark in the AFL for a player under 22. Very Very excited about his progress and I think hes just one step off really dominating a game. Also he is a very hard match up as he runs all day is quite tall. Would be hard to find a backmen with the same aerobic ability coupled with height.

Paddy Ryder would keep him to 25 leads, no marks, no kicks.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves please....

That was actually his 4th year that he started kicking a decent amount of goals, Brown was in his 5th season before he started kicking a decent amount of goals.

Compare the stats (Not a great indicator) with Kennedy & Brown/Riewoldt in their 3rd year and you won't find much difference but Kennedy doing a little better than both (Especially Brown)

Kennedy is playing really bloody well so far for such a young KP Forward along with McKinley, JK has 5.1 + 7 assists in his 3 games - huge impact.

If this was 2002-2005 we would have been delirious with this output from a pair of key forwards.

Is there a reason you feel the need to always be negative and generally be wrong?

In his first season, Riewoldt played 6 games and his best goal tally was 2, in fact that was his total goal tally.

In his second season, his best goal tally was 6 in Round 22. He played all 22 games and managed 21 goals in total (thats 15 in his other 21 games). So thats his first 2 seasons and kicked more than 2 goals in a game twice (3 & the 6 previously mentioned).

His third season he played 22 games and kicked 30 goals. His best tally was 4 which he did 3 times. He had 8 goaless games.

Season 4 was his breakout season for goalkicking. He kicked 67 in 25 games and had a purple patch between Rounds 15 & 17 when he kicked 9, 5 and 7 in consecutive weeks. Interestingly, these games were among his lowest possession outings as he played closer to goal (i.e. FF rather than CHF - Gehrig missed 2 of those games as did Kosi) - maybe that had something to do with it?

Just for Cuzz09 benefit, that 9 goal haul came in his 65th game in his 4th season while playing FF. Not far off.

Kennedy is a developing player and he is showing very good signs.

Cuzz09 remains our most negative supporter.

Cuzz09 atleast has a reason to be negative now. Back off .

I'm starting to warm to the trade more and more every week. Judd was a champion of our club, but Masten and Kennedy will be the future of WC and I'm happy they're here.

Loved both of their games on the weekend. Masten is a tough in and under player with a very good kick to the leading forward. Kennedy looks very mobile, leads well, works hard and is a great kick (for goal and field kicking). :thumbsu:

Similar to the Croad deal

Croad & McPharlin at full potential would have looked very much the equal of 2 A-Grade mids back in 2001 - still in the days of 'Key Position players are the key to a premiership' when they already had Pavlich, brown, Waterhouse & just about to recruit Polack - looked like being the perfect building blocks for a struggling team. I remember how many Hawks fans were saying how badly they were ripped off in the deal and that they would 'only' get a couple of good midfielders out of the deal at the expense of young talls.

This was in the days of Carey, Lynch, Lloyd, Brown, Michael, Lucas & Fletcher being the key to September glory of 99-01 when kicking to contests was a style of play rather than a last resort option.

Always knew he would be a good player. Wasn't developed well at Carlton and so disappointed we lost him.

Absolutely, Pagan had no idea how to play him; ruck, forward pocket, benched for copious amounts of time, anywhere BUT his natural position.

Is absolutely killing it now he's at CHF (and well conditioned), hope he continues his form.

I keep hearing the words: "Ashley Hansen...trade bait".

Nah, I hear Ash Hansen retired prematurely...

Reported in the paper last Friday that contract negotiations could be finalised soon for a 2 or 3 year deal... When fit Hansen and Kennedy combined would be fantastic...

Supporters are so fickle... they are not fully informed and turn so quickly

he is certainly playing some good footy !

hopefully he keeps improving and his stamina can be up there with a riewoldt or richardson - so he can keep doing it for 4 qtrs

he certainly is proving me wrong - he always appeared a lumbering plod to me - but it looks like he has dropped some weight and can run a lot better now.

hopefully a strong injury free pre-seaon next year can see him take his fitness to a new level again
