If there is any indigenous player at the moment who can challange the Andrew McClouds, and the Goodes in this current era for the best Indigenous player every, I think it's NAS. As an U18 I thought it could be Rankine, but he wont now.

Would he need to have premiership glory like Macca and Goodes to get the crown?

Without being that guy, is the gap between him and Kossie Pickett even much?

Let alone anointing him the GOAT indigenous player of all time

This season Kozi has been better but he's not getting tagged as hard as NAS is.

Last season NAS was was order of magnitudes better.

Anyway yes he's in the conversation with NAS at the moment and has had a better 2026 so far.

Burgoyne, Franklin, Goodes, McLeod, Maurice Rioli, Gavin Wanganeen, Peter Matera.... could go on for longer, he's got a long way to go to reach a pretty strong list.

Yep and that’s just the start. Add Michael Long, Polly Farmer, Barry Cable, Stephen Michael, Syd Jackson, Bill Dempsey, Winmar, Jim Krakouer, Jeff Farmer,
To answer the OP. Yes Nas “could” one day, but at the moment he wouldn’t be in the top 25.

Do people forget how good Goodes actually was?
I mean seriously, he was the most versatile footballer to hit the scene for a very long time. His battles with Dean Cox were legendary.
Did it in big games and was a consistent champion for well over 15 years.

Guys like Daicos and NAS have a long way to go before being mentioned in the same conversation and then you have Buddy Franklin.

Yeah, Adam was a beast. He always used to get up when playing us. He was as mobile and quick as a mid, yet could ruck and play key forward.

Even at his best that I've seen he isn't even as impressive as players like Buddy, Goodes, McLeod and Matera at their best that I've seen.

Could he be?....sure

Will he be?....I'd highly doubt it

Very underrated as many NSW / Qld based footballers tend to be.

Goodes was a freak and could dominate games as an individual like few others.
He was a complete powerhouse.

He’s up there with the best players I’ve seen.
