Toast Courageous geelong player acts

No joke, I sneaked into the player rooms back in 1995 at Western Oval and on my way in search of the great man, I saw Buddha on the trainers table with ice bags on one knee and a great big needle sticking into the other knee. He looked at me and quietly murmured "did you want me to sign that for you", embarrassingly look back now, I was a youngster at the time and was only interested in meeting Ablett, I said "no it's ok" and proceeded on my journey.
Haha, all Geelong players would of got that a lot. Have you seen Gaz?
95! That's even more years than I thought. Wow he really played for a long time with those knees.
Western Oval was good like that. Once in 94 I walked straight into the Geelong rooms and watched Blight give his half time address, then walked into the Dogs rooms.
Didn't even have to sneak.

Yeh, met him a couple of times.
lol Western Oval was terrific. In fact, a lot of those suburban grounds were a great experience as they opened your eyes to new cultures which entailed great food and a very different way of hearing supporters barrack for their team.
Princess Park, Western Oval, Waverley Park and Kardinia Park in the 90's, great memories.

I can only imagine.

I had to go and see a specialist out at Hawthorn a couple of years ago and the clinic was right next door to Glenferrie Oval. I was amazed at how small the ground looked. It's also situated smack bang in the middle of housing. One of more bizarre footy grounds I ever seen. Then again, it's completely run down and merely resembles a professional sports ground these days.
Must have been a very strange place to play for opposition teams, particularly interstate sides.

Looks a bit s**t ay. The building kind of looks like a commie building out of Chernobyl or something.
Fun fact: Dunno what year, but they had weightlifting championships there once and the Romanian competitors escaped out the window and ran off down Burwood road.

Oh yeah, was working on Johnston st last week so thought I'd have lunch at Vic Park cause I've never been there.
Stands were closed off cause of Corona but ended up sitting in both pockets for a while where I'd seen Daicos kick some of his crazy goals on TV.
Was nice. Sunny day too.

Worth mentioning Zac Guthrie running back with the flight to take a mark on the weekend. Can't remember when it was but he didn't take his eyes off the ball the whole time.

Won't get much mention because he didn't get hit, but doesn't make it any less courageous imo.
It’s the mindset. That’s the important part

When it’s yours turn to go... you go.

Go Catters
