Cousins Hamstring!!

I hate to sound like a w***er expert after the event but I predicted he'd only play half the season and spend the rest out injured

Guys aged 30+ coming off 12 months out of the game are unlikely to stay on the field 60% of the time let alone play like they did when they were 26

Bad luck to Ben he looked like he'd worked 150% to get prepared. Hopefully the prognosis isn't as bad when it settles down in the next few days.

To all those people who were bagging people for saying they didn't want Cuzzy at their club because his hammy was dodgy, we were right & you were wrong.

Two tragedies...

1 - Cousins doing his hamstring after all this time in his first game; and

2 - Carlton on top of the ladder.

Is everyone sure its a hammy ?

Walls and co are but didnt bother finding out.

He went down awkwardly - Im not that certain it is

You're being quite optimistic Pessimistic

Well I certainly wish no ill upon any AFL footballer but I said that Cousins would mess up or get injured again and I was berated for even thinking of such blashpemy, and I was right. Cousins wasn't ready to go, and it showed.

Congratulations...... you were proven right that he was going to get a hamstring injury, but to blame it on his preperation or that he wasn't ready and claim it as fact is baseless, Cousins was proned to hamstring injurys in his last couple of years at West Coast, Are you now going to fault his preparation at West Coast also?

Add to that a shorter pre-season than alot of the others and a higher workload than most of the kids he started training along side.

Feel sorry for him... but still had a little chuckle at the karma of it all....

What? I said he wasn't ready to play AFL football, I'm not blaming it on preparation, I'm not blaming it on anyone. Richmond chose a guy with dodgy hammys who hadn't played competitive football in 12 months, and expected him to step up and he couldn't even last 4 quarters.

I'm not faulting his preparation, I'm just saying that I was right in saying he wouldn't be the superstar recruit Richmond fans thought he'd be. And frankly, I don't approve of him as a person either.

You're a tosser. Clubs were right to weigh up the decision to draft or not draft Cousins. They are organizations that live or die on such decisions. But you, like others, are rejoicing in the failure of another human. He's not r*ped anybody. He's not committed genocide. All he's done is become addicted to a substance. He's not a thief, and he's not the first person to have ****ed up.

If you didn't mean any of the above (glorying in the suffering of another), then you might have qualified your statement.

I've got to admit I chortled a little when I heard this news. Not because of a player getting injured as that is always bad news to hear, but the fact that Richmond (and a LOT of other supporters) had already classed Cousin's comeback a success before he played a proper AFL game.

I just said he was over 30 & had dodgy hammys & got told I had no idea, his hammy was fine, hhhmmmm who was right?
