Cousins and Richmond

Greg Miller was quoted as saying it will most likely come down to the players in deciding whether or not Cousins will be at Richmond if he's let off the hook by the commission today. What decision do you think the players will make say if Ben was available via the PSD? Could we be a realistic chance for a top 4 spot given that Richo, Brown, Bowden are coming to the end of there careers and do you think its worth a shot being our centenary year?

A very hypothetical question as it is extremely unlikely that Ben will be playing next season.

As for 2009, I reckon the majority of players would welcome a player of Ben's calibre, and the majority (usually) rules.

Re: Cousins and Richmond

Our players should never be asked to vote on anything to do with the future of the club let alone assessing what type of players we should recruit. We got enough losers already.

Re: Cousins and Richmond

Players shouldn't be running the football club.
That's what we pay Miller for.
Ludicrous stuff from Miller. Soft.
Either say outright whether the club wants Cousins or not. Don't hide behind the players.

Re: Cousins and Richmond

Basically GM probably DOES want Cousins - but only if the players agree.

He can't just say "we'll take him" because maybe he fears the playing group not wanting him.

Re: Cousins and Richmond

FFS, read between the lines. This means he's already ok'd it with the sponsors, with the club admin, and all that remains is the formality of getting the ok of the playing group so IF the AFL let him off the hook for next year, Miller can go to Cousins and say EVERYONE is behind him coming to the club.

Some of you blokes would lose your shirts playing poker with G Miller. ;)

Or you give Miller all your chips to place a bet on your behalf and you lose the lot.

I think you are giving the man a little too much credit, Rayzor

Cousins Decision In An Hour

Just heard that the AFL will hold a press conference with a decision.
What are peoples thoughts on what the decision will be?

i reckon they will let him take the year off for rehabilitation. someone on another post made an intersting comment, not a suspension but uneligable to play for the first 11 weeks. so he can have a reasonable amount of time in rehab and also time to get back to his football. i do think if richmond pick him up he want be taken care of but i think it would be better him playing football than giving him the chance to roam the streets.

personally i want a Round 1 100,000+ game
Cuz v Judd
Kruezer v Cotchin
Gibbs v Deledio
Murph v Foley
Tambling v Walker
couglahn v stevens
tuck v scoatland

Just saw it on the news, bit dissapointed to be honest, now it looks like Gay Richards will be our PSD pick. Can see cuz spiralling even more out of control now that he has been suspended.
