well it seems that cousins and kerr aren't exactly great friends.

after cousins threw the punch @ that night club quite a few weeks ago it seems that they have not made up

report in the herald sun today says that at the brownlow cousins was at a bar and when kerr came over he cleared off.

hmm interesting...

any developments?

I think this needs to be sorted out in-house.

If there is a lot of tension with the 2 players, it will affect everyone in the club and to a degree success out on the field.

I hope this is all sorted before next season......but something tells me it won't.

Is there a link to read the article for us over here in Perth steve?

It really needs to resolved and quickly. Could you imagine if Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen hated eachother...they wouldnt have won like they did had they not being great friends. The Eagles need to be a unit, all friends, no animosity for us to be successful. So it NEEDS to be resolved, the sooner the better.

Although apparently the animosity has been there all season and it didnt effect the team or either players performance??

While down in Melbourne Cousins made a few appearances at Crown where during one, when questioned about the incident he said he would have "done a few things differently if he had his time again".

Does that mean he would have smacked Kerr properly so he couldn't get up or is he really sorry about the altercation???????

Michael and Scottie certainly didnt hate each other, but to say that that whole Bulls team was rosy is not true, and Jordan was the centre of a lot of it. Perhaps I could direct you to a book called The Jordan Rules, very interesting read.

whoa i had to run downstairs to grab today paper. oh the thing i do for this board

ok it comes from the sunday herald sun, page 107, down the bottom under the "whispers, whinges & wackos" section

Accompanying the little snippet is a pic of Kerr's head in a circle, probably taken from the website and a picture of Benny in a circle which looks like it was taken at the Brownlow.

It is interesting to note that the article says that mr. C got his broken arm from an altercation with dan but in fact it was from falling down the stairs.

Anyway, enough talk. Only the article.

RELATIONS between West Coast captain Ben Cousins (below) and teammate Daniel Kerr (top) seemed particularly frosty at Heat after the Brownlow. Cousins, who had his arm broken a few weeks ago after an altercation with Kerr in a Perth bar, was talking to other players in Heat's c-ock tail bar but turned on his heel when Kerr approached.

* apparently this board doesn't like the word "c-ock" hehe

Thrawn...im a Jordan freak...ive read the book and every other book ever published about the man! :D MJ and Pip had there up and downs but at the end of the day they were great friends and still are. I know there were other things that went down between other players like the animosity between MJ and Longley, but that too was overcame. Also the hierachy of the Bull and MJ. MJ to this day still doesnt get along with Jerry and Jerry.

But i made that comparison because it doesnt matter if MJ doesnt get along with say...Jud Buechler, cos they would just trade him. They cant trade Pippen...see what i mean. The star players must get along which is why Cus and Kerr must get along. Wouldnt matter if Harding and Cousins hated eachother would it...

I thought Pippen and MJ went through long periods where they barely spoke (Can't remember where I read it but - possibly from Longley).

I think the point with the Bulls has been missed here however. That club managed to function even when guys didn't get along, because when they were on the court they had one goal and one game plan.

Just my humble opinion.

Truth is Jordan wouldnt have won 6 championships without Pippen and vice versa. A lot of crap was written by the media so a lot of it is not true. They never hated eachother or came to blows or anything like that though and are great friends.

But your right about missing the point. During the Bulls reign at the top, it wasnt all happiness and good times. But they overcame that because they all strived for the same goal. Thats what needs to be done in this case.

Pippen wouldn't have won too many without Jordan, but we are definitely getting off track.

I said vice versa....neither would have being as successful as they were without eachother. It's a general rle of thumb that you need at least two great players to win championships. The only recent exception to the rule was Houston's back to back in 94 and 95 but they dont really count as Jordan would have won those championships had he not retired...

2002 - Shaq and Kobe
2001 - Shaq and Kobe
2000 - Shaq and Kobe
1999 - Robinson and Duncan
1998 - Jordan and Pippen
1997 - Jordan and Pippen
1996 - Jordan and Pippen
1995 - Olajuwon and good support cast...the exception.
1994 - Olajuwon and good support cast...the exception.
1993 - Jordan and Pippen
1992 - Jordan and Pippen
1991 - Jordan and Pippen
1990 - Thomas and Dumars
1989 - Thomas and Dumars
1987 - Magic and Worthy or Kareem
1986 - Magic and Worthy or Kareem
1985 - Bird and McHale or Parish
1984 - Magic and Worthy or Kareem
1983 - Bird and McHale or Parish
1982 - Dr.J and Malone

Etc etc etc....but were getting off topic :D

Heheh...no, I'm a basketball freak so i knew who had won the last 15 or so titles and who played for them. Hell, i watched most of them from around 1990. :)

Do you like Basketball, follow the NBA or NBL or anthing like that?
Yeah, love it

Used to follow the NBA (San Antonio) closely when I played decent level stuff (hanging around with other bball addicts several nights a week does that to you). Looking forward to this season with ESPN coming to Foxtel.

I'm still a big Wildcats fan too. I know that's a bit out of fashion these days but I started watching them when they started making playoffs so I've always had a soft spot.

I still play these days - only social stuff at Belmont but.

Yeah I had season tickets wih the cats in 93 and 94 I think (they were still winter seasons back then)

You mustbe older than I tought if you were supporting the Cats that long ago!!

Go the Timberwolves! KG is awesome.

I used to have Wildcats season tickets but I don't really follow the NBL anymore. Ever since Lichti left, really.

I was in love with the Cats, used to watch each of their games about 6 times :)

And Lichti, don't get me started. I was the biggest fan of Lichti on this planet.

Im 22 in November so i was only 8 when i had my first season tickets but my mum, aunty and grandma were big Cat's fans aswell. So I used to go to games with them and my older brother.

I actually know Cal Bruton quite well, he was good friends with my mum and gran and about 4 years ago I actually had the pleasure of playing against him down at Joondalup stadium. Cal and one of his mates filled in for the team i was playing against that was down on numbers. Cal won :)

The T-Wolves are alright, need another star to help out KG though if they wanna win a title. I too was a big Lichti fan and was shattered when he went home to Denver. A real quality player.
