Interesting that most people are prepared to over look Benny's outside issues because he is a great player yet other players that have been alleged drug users are treated as duds because they don't have the runs on the board that Benny has. I am not just talking about Polak either who is widely criticised as a failure at the Tigers because of his suspect past, but Gardiner has also had manya comment passed on his behaviour and how it is such an error for either of these 2 clubs to have taken them. Yet as I said it seems most who have voted would like Benny at their club despite the issues.

I think people are very happy to make exceptions when the player is an out and out champion. No one at Carlton was upset when Anguin and Norman were given the flick, yet we have given the Fev more chances because he is a critical part to our team.

If Cousins did leave don't for a moment think that the 15 other clubs supporters would bag the team that he went to for exactly the same reasons mentioned in the first post. Players like Cousins are given pass cards because of their ability and everyone would love to have a player of his ability in the team.

Doesn't mean we don't take the high moral ground if your club doesn't get the player.

You'd take a chance on a change of scene reforming him to an extent. He might be better off in Sydney or Brisbane where there is less focus on AFL so wont be treated like some sort of deity.
