Thank you very much for that. Did a litttle reading. Sounds interesting. The triple approach requires zinc and an antibiotic. Zinc I know has had anecdotal success too. The downside is that dosage required to kill the virus hasn’t been tested for safety and may have significant adverse effects. Apparently studies happening currently. This is definitely a watch

It's to give another year of the state of emergency without having to sit Parliament every 4 weeks. The same thing that we do when there are floods or bushfires. It is so things such as the emergency payments for casuals that have to take time off waiting for a test result can have money to pay rent can still happen because they fall under the state of emergency.

You do have to admire Dan. Does a terrible job with hotel quarantine, gives himself a pay rise, reduces the days he has to work by cutting parliament sitting and he has job security during a pandemic. He should win an award.

As someone who is surviving on those payments and know a lot of people also needing them to survive, I find that quite offensive.

This is the emergency act that was done in March not the state of disaster that was just done before the Stage 4 restrictions. Link. They can only be done for 6 months. Which is now.

Normally a flood or bushfire doesn't last for 6 months (thank **** for that). Legally he can only have a State of Emergency for 6 months. That is coming to a close. However, the emergency hasn't stopped. He even said in the press conference just gone that if things eased up within that time restrictions would also ease to reflect that. But things such as mandatory staying at home whilst awaiting a test result (and the payments that go with that [which are state funded btw]) couldn't be enforced.

And the state Liberals wouldn't pass on anything that helps a casual. Labor can't pass anything "easily" because they don't have a majority in the upper house.

When was the last time the federal parliament sat? I think they are sitting next week but it has been a long time between drinks for them as well.

3,794 cases in the past two weeks with 25 deaths in the past two weeks. 86,068 total cases with 5,810 deaths.

Their log scales look much nicer than ours atm but for a Sweden that might be doing well there is a USA or Brazil as well

Which is gross no matter what side you are on. Vote him out if you don't like him, death threats are despicable.

Though I think/hope the general vibe is getting a lot better around town now that we are very quickly dropping our new cases. If the trend continues as dramatically as it has been trending we will be in double digits again in only a few days. Don't even remember when the last time that happened.

Yep... I guess in 12 years when our per capital fatalities catch catch up with Sweden’s we’ll be better able to judge who took the better path.
