There’s a chart going around comparing our rate of infection with Italy. What it doesn’t say is our testing is 10 times that of Italy.

So whilst it’s serious, we can settle on the panic a bit.

That said, the yoof of today need a bloody good kick up the arse for that Bondi and other similar shit.

Here is a good link that tracks the number of cases and charts them against each country. Lets just say Spain is about to be the new Italy and then the US will be something else.

I was going to quote you all, but I gave it up because there are just too many...

A lot of the blame for peoples' behaviour must go to the successive governments that did nothing to protect them from the booming journalism industry that catastrophises everything to make money. Add to that the government officials who 'manipulate' the truth to get elected (ie make promises they have absolutely no intention of keeping). Together, these trends have meant that these generations have no belief that this is not just another beat up. Added to that they have the social media sites that also manipulate them and spread false information...

I find it interesting that these generations that have been lied to since birth, whose school classes include lectures on the manipulative ways of advertising and social media, are suddenly been held up as 'morons' because they don't believe their government... Lots of talk about common sense, which is in my opinion, fairly uncommon and prone to sudden disappearances!

Meanwhile, my generation and those before me, didn't object this type of behaviour by our government because we were busy cashing in on the economic boom, packing away super, investment housing, stocks etc.

I honestly wonder what people thought was going to happen in times likes these... What's that song... a sign of the times...

Having said all that, stay at home people! DON'T BE BLOODY MORONS!!!

I have about 3 weeks supply of food. I will hunker down at home until it’s depleted. The first week will be flow on effect of non lock down period We will continue at 200-500 per day perhaps closer to 1000 on the 7th day but then the effect of lock down will take effect and the further cases should dissipate back to around 100 per day hopefully progressively reducing to a trickle by the time non essential work is also locked down. They are saying still that majority of new cases are returning from overseas. I’m hopeful then that the crazy numbers at supermarkets for panic buying recently will mostly be free of the virus spread because I had to get supplies in that time. Procedural matters hereafter. I have created a virus fortress of my home (see previous post for instruction). That being the case and assuming I didn’t get infected during shopping then I merely need to worry about infection in going out. If you must go out then carry a travel bottle of sanitiser (or makeshift alternative with you) and anti bacterial wipes. Clean hands regularly whilst out essentially after everything you touch. Put groceries in boot NOT on passenger seat. common risks are:

- petrol pumps
- key pads cards
- cards themselves
- wallet or purse
- bag handles
- mobile phones
- touch areas on cars
- steering wheel
- door handles
- brake handle
- gear shift
- habit not touching face
- use forearm or shoulder to open doors if required
- canned and container food wipe down at home before pantry

If you can:

- wipe petrol pump handle with wipes before use
- wipe supermarket card pads with wipes before use
- wear mask. I have 50 disposable surgical masks which aren’t 100 % effective. Still 80% is better than nil.
- don’t go near anyone. Preferably use self pay at supermarket wipe pad and touchscreen first u

Washing clothes. There can be cross contamination. Separate loads for each person in house. The washing machine isn’t definitive to kill but using hot air dryer for minimum 28 mins IS. All loads to go through dryer then.

Bolster your immune system. 12% get serious infection which is largely a result of poor immune response. So you have strong immune then you likely will be in the 88%. see my previous post for products which will bolster immune response. most are available for online purchase and delivery

I’m going to stop in at coles after work, the senior hour should be over, I hope things have settled, really don’t want to be dealing with hysterical people.

Age isn't an excuse. There are idiots everywhere. However... if we are talking age & want to give our opinion on who has been "raised wrong"... most of the most frustrating crap I've seen/heard has been from boomers & older people who are passing this off & making jokes about it... Business owners who simply refused to be told otherwise mostly.

Anyone from Late 30s-early 60's who are more worried about their money than the health of anyone else... After all, "they aren't at risk" & "it's just a cold"... "all of this over-dramatised over a sniffle... the common cold kills more" blah blah blah blah.

Entitled, pigheaded boomers has been my biggest exposure to the utter stupidity, ignorance & selfishness that is going to kill real people & traumatise a generation of health care workers & their families... But it won't impact them so what of it?!

Just like climate change.

Just like student support & uni fees.

Just like housing affordability.

They don't give a toss as they aren't likely to be as harshly impacted... They have always gotten what they wanted. Free education. Cheap housing. A booming stock market & economy. No direct wars. No restrictions... growth, prosperity & wealth... leading to entitlement... So in theur world it won't impact them as harshly as others so "it's no way near as bad as they will have us believe" apparently.

Sure. There are stupid kids out there too. But in my experience these past few weeks it's been business owners & retirees who are the most selfish, entitled & frustrating to deal with... Daylight second then "idiot kids who just want to party on" (as the boomerhoarder wheels their full trolley to the checkout).

(* all quotes are real from boomers I have spoken to in the past few weeks).

What about the scenes at Bondi though? Unless you are saying the Lawn Bowls championships were at Bondi?

The worst one's bar none are the ones that have hoarded all the supplies in a short space of time.

Personally I feel it's the mixed signals coming from everywhere. Some are saying one thing, then someone says another.

Personally the only thing that will change to me will be working from home rather than work and everything is the same via Skype anyway.

What a load of garbage!
Oh and you work in finance?
All those boomers downBondi last week... and King St Newtown overflowing with boomers last Saturday night.
I’m not a boomer but the practise of generalising about the characteristics of ppl born in a particular set of years makes as much sense as characterising a group of ppl based on the colour of their skin.
Keep propagating thee myth of your puppetMasters and keep humanity divided so the 1% can maintain their wealth and power

I'm not out for a fight/debate/argument on this. I think perhaps my frustration overshadowed my point... Kirky seemed to be frustrated with younger people & I've been exposed to older idiots.

As I said first up. Age isn't an excuse. There are idiots everywhere. That is my point.

In my experience thus far I have been most frustrated by those older people. Others seemed to be frustrated by younger people.

Age has nothing to do with it. All people, regardless of age, need to take this seriously & pull their heads in. Those that aren't are the problem & they will drive real deaths in real people.

I do however feel sorry that a whole generation of kids who can't afford a house, who had to pay top dollar for their education, who inherit a planet raging with bushfires & floods as a result of previous generations who have extracted all the benefit then get tarred with a brush as to their "entitlement". That is something I do usually get on my high horse about. Sorry if I let it override my point... which I'll repeat one last time... Age is no excuse. We all have different experiences. There are idiots everywhere & we need them to pull their socks up & get with the program quicksmart!

My 65+ mum was turned away from Woolies because she forgot her pensioners card, and they wouldn't accept a drivers licence as a form of ID.

Hope the staff member gets COVID in her anus.
