I just find it odd we can extrapolate 2 people doing well from this financially to claim it’s a success


How about the 25,400,000 who don’t have covid 19 ? How about we move on given most don’t have it

This post just reeks of hypocrisy after the way you lectured those of us that took the opposite view to you when this virus was raging and no one knew where the future was heading.
There are plenty of people out there that don't fit neatly into the government's rescue plan and are suffering and don't have the benefit of a godlike accountant such as yourself to rescue them.
May I suggest you climb down from your high horse and understand that not everyone fits neatly into little boxes and that people have opposing views to you.

And finally to denigrate another poster on making possibly the most common grammatical error in the English language frankly says more about you than the poster that made the error.

What hypocrisy? I didn’t believe that the elderly were to be sacrificed because they had no value. How disgusting. I also didn’t think it was sensible to take unreasonable risk on opening up. I now don’t think it is nearly as bad as made out.l financially. Some will struggle and deserve our empathy. Have mine. But unlike the keyboard warriors here who just want to attack people with different views I ACTUALLY did something tangible about it. I gave $5000 away. Doubt any of you have. And if you’ve have i applaud you

I’m far from godlike. I’m just an accountant nothing more. But I’m not going to be attacked by redneck bigots who want to lash out at me when quite possibly I have far greater measure of empathy in practical terms than any of them. I abhor all forms of prejudice of gays, about race, ageism, misogyny. We all should. It’s how society evolves. I care for all people especially those disadvantaged. You don t escape disadvantage by wallowing in it. Tough love maybe but truth. Should that necessitate personal attack? Of course not

Not making that extrapolation. Rather it comes from the fact that hundreds of billions of dollars fiscal injection does dramatically influence the economy. It is happening already amongst ALL my clients. We will see 12 moths from now. Perhaps we should resume this conversation then

JB yes I did lecture and threatened posters and was accordingly reprimanded by mods. I accept I was wrong in choice of action but not in the principle I sought to defend.

As far as grammar is concerned I raise it BECAUSE I was labelled ignorant. Someone opens that door I will walk through slam it in their face. don’t like it then perhaps people should be more circumspect in making disrespectful remarks on topic.

The point was that I was attacked by multiple parties suggesting i lacked compassion and empathy. So I showed I was empathetic as rebuttal.

I did that work about $5k on time cost for NIL to make sure they could feed their kids.

Splitting hairs don’t you think. But if it makes you feel better .....I gave away the right to my fees worth $5000. The client is $5000 better off and I’m $5000 worse off as though I gave away cash. Happy? And btw I never not charge what is on WIP. All my clients know and accept this

I ‘bash’ no one for helping a person. I will laud it. You’re placing words in my mouth which aren’t mine.

I will however defend myself against insults about my ‘ignorance’ ‘naivety’ ‘self indulgence’ ‘self entitlement’ ‘lack of empathy’ ‘lack of compassion’ ‘self aggrandisement’ as the ones immediately that spring to mind. And in the case of the lack of empathy I cite my generosity with a client. I’m sure many here have done lots of things to help family and friends in need. Wonderful. So have I so stop suggesting otherwise simply because my beliefs on how financially damaging this situation is are misunderstood or challenged.

A leopard hey? Geez you’re being very kind there. If I were to liken him to something, it probably wouldn’t be anything that has legs.
I’m just saying that, like many of the genius posters here, our other political leaders might have succumbed to external pressures and lifted the restrictions early when we were still racking up 300 cases a day.
No doubt Scomo is capable of matching Trumpy’s treachery in a much more stealthy way but at least we wont be feeding our seniors to the sharks while it happens.

There’s two directions from 300... the one we took which sees us where we are now or the hypothetical one that the “real” experts and geniuses swear would have been a much better option.... you know... one where we throw our hands in the air, cross our fingers and toes and hope that we, or someone we love, don’t become a part of the sacrifice to shore up our life-giving economy.
