I'd suggest do lots of reading from multiple sources as there are conflicting ideas and opinions out there, all from equally-qualified sources.

I am nearly 25, I like to think I'm fit and healthy, besides essential tremor which I've had since 19 and a keg since I was of legal drinking age, but I don't want to get it under any circumstances with the fear that I could give it to someone else, be it at work, friends or family. So I took my immediate family down south and we're planning to wait it out for as long as necessary. It seems an OTT course of action, but this thing will grow legs and something as simple as getting treatment for it at a hospital will soon become a shit-show.
seems a bit extreme. everyone (most) in major cities will get it this year. Most wont even know. but old and sick people will die. its not the end of the world. the common flu kills more people. cancer kills more. if you worry about it it wont help. just make sure sickpeople in your family are protected.

14 days apparently from diagnosis. but that's give and take. but you could have infected others prior to symtoms. but i would not worry too much. if you dont have contact with old people or people with existing medical probs. dont worry. but going to meet your grandmum after going to a concert would not be recommended.
My grandmum would be about 120, luckily enough she's dead! So I can't infect her...

However my Dad is almost 90 and I see him at least once a week... so that's a problem for me :(

I just recently watched a video (out of either England &/or the US) where some professor was saying that Australia is the most prepared country in the world for a pandemic... that we have been creating back up medical teams for years (i think it was in 16), so perhaps we're not as bad off as you think...

I'll post it if I can find it...

Probably should've mentioned that one of those immediate family members is my granddad who is in his 80s. We wanted to get him into isolation without him having to live by himself where he wouldn't be able to look after himself 24/7.

I've had the flu once..
I've had heaps of colds
I'd rather not revisit the flu like symptons of Cv19
its nasty AF

you should and have done what you thinks best , no one else business mate

someone working on a cure?

Multiple are being created, a few are in testing stages right now. I think they are streamlining it as much as possible to cut down time but unless there's a miracle response in the testing, a vaccine is still 12-18 months away best case scenario. Then distributing it worldwide will be a monumental task as well.

A Melbourne based stem cell research company has been given the green light to test a treatment on confirmed cases in Australia, UK, US, and China. This treatment has treated lung infections with good success in the past so if it can also treat the pneumonia symptoms of COVID then we will have a great chance of reducing the death toll and reducing discharge time for hospitals

Science will find a way, we all just need to understand what we're about to get into and all play our part to reduce the damage and bide time until we have an answer, whatever that may be.

One small positive:

At worst, we get pick 4 in this year's draft (based on 2019 draft order if taken into account)

At best, we get pick 1 in this year's draft (based on 1010 pre-season ladder if taken into account)

I say a 'small' positive because while either scenario would be a pretty huge deal for our club, in the grand scheme of things, there is little to celebrate during a pandemic.

A player now would have it I bet

No doubt about it imo. How many players were overseas for offseason and Christmas? I think I saw today that they have narrowed down an origin time of the virus to late November last year. Tons of people will get it and never show symptoms or they will get symptoms so unremarkable it gets shrugged off.

It has very likely been spreading stealthily for a month. Contact training wouldn't help.

Ive done a massive amount of research on this. There is a professor in UK producing videos with discussions and tips. Excellent viewing

For the masses my findings:

- megadose vitamin C has had a number of trials against respiratory viral infections. It reduces impact by some 85%. The strongest source of vitamin C in the world is Camu Camu powder 1 teaspoon of which is equivalent to having 30 oranges. Bought a kg.

- vitamin D apparently has been shown to improve immune system and is the thing the professor recommends taking before you get virus. shown in studies to reduce ARDS by 19%.

- astralagus is the best immune support natural remedy recognised in traditional medicine. took it recently when i had started a cold and it stopped the cold in tracks after 2 days when usually I have them 14 days. Works for flu too. Any respiratory virus. The product I bought is Astraforte in liquid form.

- the thing that kills you is Acute Respiratory Distress syndrome. The professor walks you through the biological basis for that. It is the bodies own lung inflammation which causes it. There have been numerous studies looking at the use of relief remedies to curtail the inflammation. One that has been used with some success is turmeric.

My regimen for myself and family is:

- teaspoon of camu camu daily
- 2.5 ml of astraforte liquid 3 times a day
- vitamin d supplements on recommended dose
- turmeric tablet twice a day

Only 12% develop serious illness at risk of ARDS. By taking what I’ve outlined I think it will be enough to push you on the right side of the 12%. through improved immune response and capacity to fight respiratory infection including reduced inflammation.

if it doesn’t work and I die forget all I said.

In all seriousness though no one is focusing on what you can do to improve immunity and health in readiness. This regimen is my solution

Your username doesn't instil a great deal of confidence...

Majority of the Swans went on a Eurotrip :mask:

This its almost impossible to avoid being close to people obviously im not silly to go in the middle of a huge mass gathering or start touching everyone.

But Supermarkets there is a Queue to line up and pay (people get pretty close) you brush up against ppl in shopping isles/banks

Its like unless you lock yourself in a sanitary room what can you do?

The AFL clubs are talking about the physical distancing measures to protect the players from media and fans. Like restricting access to club headquarters.

But I wonder if all the players/staff have been directed to lock themselves up in the homes when they are not training. Or being prevented from lining up in the shops, taking public transport or eating in a cafe.
