Only bit that confuses me is if he locks the date at 80%, what if we then don't hit the 90% by the date?
More restrictions will be enforced.

Masks only in high risk indoor areas.

Can't really complain too much imo

And proof of vaccination for large events (over a thousand) which will include footy obviously. So no going to Optus if you’re not jabbed.

If the single dose hits 90% at that stage then logically it will hit double dose 90% within a month.

The roadmap seems sound and consistent with the messaging. I also predicted a February reopening with part of the reason being McGowan keeping WA residents for one last school holidays in the state and spending money, and it would coincide with the expiry of the vaccine mandate.

Keeping the G2G pass seems massive overkill to me

How so? Its an easy to fill out application granted in less than 30 seconds. I imagine it's a contact tracing tool should you or someone on your flight test positive later on. I don't imagine it would bar entry if by then we've thrown WA open to any double vaxxed arrival (the only bars would be proof of double vaccination and a negative PCR test which is a similar hurdle adopted all around the world).

Im not sure why everyone is upset by it? The way it was presented did seem like an ultimatum for people sitting on the fence which im fine with but we now have a target to look forward too.

Speaking to a mate about it before. I asked if he had the jab yet and he said hell no. Told him about the government mandate about having to be jabbed by Jan 31st , reckons he hadn't heard that and that wont convince him to get the jab and would rather lose his job. I know he loves his clubbing and Casino.. So again i mentioned you have to be double vaxxed to enter those venues. His answer to that was stuff it lets just keep the boarder forver... lol

Just 3 more months and Fortress WA will be no more. We've done well to get this far, it's worked, but it's time to move on.

Depending on the modelling that will be released later today, if we manage to get to February with 90% double vaxxed without an outbreak (and the following months sees manageable hospitalisation and death rates), Western Australia will in my view be the world leaders on the handling of the pandemic in terms of balancing economic, health and social impacts. Which jurisdiction could you argue has suffered less from COVID?

Has anyone found a full list of what they deem as high risk venues or scenarios which require a mask?

They've listed hospitals, aged care, public transport as examples

I agree, what's there to be upset about?

Is there many upset? Most on here just seem to be trying to decipher all the info.

Personally glad we finally have an actual target and soon to have an actual date (*en yay)

Also minimal masks which I was expecting far worse.

The West Coast board discussion is mostly sane.

Too open ended for mine. Can see it being dragged into March or April especially if other states have trouble handling the inevitable rise in cases.
Once 80% has been reached a date will be set for reopening which won't alter regardless of when 90% is reached.
I can't see the open ended bit.
