Exactly what i expected would happen.

Somehow i didn't think wooden would be given a run with so many promising youngsters pressing for selection. Cox was unlucky to miss out but will get his chance when we come up against a defensive team where gardi will be needed up forward. Munro, as much promise as he has shown i think he will struggle for selection this year, the eagles just have too many players of his type.

Nevertheless, the lineup looks really strong, and barring any injuries we will have a superb team once kemp, phil Matera and Gaspar are available for selection.

Wasn't suprised about Wooden, but Munro who had shown a bit in the Ansett Cup/practice matches and Cox who would of been a good support for Gardiner were a bit unlucky.

Hoping that Braun will play a good game

We're all in agreence about Wooden, but I reckon we made the right decision otherwise as well, Cox and Munro will get there turn, just not this week.

Stuff Wooden the guy is a hack, MM was a moron for ever recruiting the guy. Cox & Munro will get a game soon, Munro sooner though I feel, round 4 perhaps?

I disagree about Wooden. It is only his disposal that lets him down. In last years WAFL GF he was excellent. The guy is only 22 and has a lot of AFL experience now for that age. Back pocket is also not his position. I think he will come good.
My poser about Cox is that traditionally we pick a ruckman and backup. Gardy and Turnbull were last years choice. THis year most predict Gardy and Cox. Turnbull is playing in WAFL so Cox is clearly preferred. But we go in against the Cats with onlt 1 ruck. Will Sierra ruck? Or Carrol? to give Gardy a break or let him go forward. Maybe Wilson as King is a physical ruxkman.

Anyhow, I see Donners playing for Subi.

I agree Wooden disposal is a shame as he could be serviceable.

Munro is unlucky as I see him playing a simlar role to Carltons Lappin. This is a small playing tall and bobbing up and kicking a goal. In the selected team Peter Matera has been given this role. I hope he can stand up physically without getting injured. Further I hope he pulls his head in and plays footy this year. It could be his last (Ditto Dean Kemp)

Munro will get his chance. I like him a lot and he has time on his side.

As for Cox, he had a great preseason. I would have thought they would have picked him to help wear down King. But with Wilson to help out in the forward line I expect Siera to assit Gardiner. Cox's time will come. He is young and could do with a bit more bulk or he may get hurt. As he did hurt a knee pre season.

I expect a bold showing this week. I just hope they show character and there is no second half fade out.

Go Eagles
