Cox Plate early on it looks good

Last year's Cox was ok until you got past the first two placegetters, then it thinned badly. Heard a replay call of Sunline's 7length Cox Plate win and nearly gagged when I heard the names Referral and Diatribe running 2nd and 3rd. No wonder she won so easily that day, reckon I would've done ok too.

This year's Cox thank god is looking a bit better...Northerly, Sunline, Lohnro, Magical Miss, Defier, Fields of Omagh, Victory Vein and the Godolphin galloper Grandera make a Cox Plate field that would rate as the best in years.

I feel that Grandera is a fair bit better than Silvano was last year just going on reports from UK & European racing sites, but still I'm worried that if Grandera's so good then why, with 3 times the prizemoney on offer at the BreedersCup this year, aren't they over there instead of being here for the Cox Plate?

Apart from Grandera, I reckon Northerly is an absolute special.

Smart thinking Deej, I'm sticking with Northerly too that horse has heart and knows how to dig deep unlike the majority of your beloved internationals.
