Got no second up form either and just pipped an aging BHB. I mean I'll never say never with horses but he was one of the first I ruled out.

Irrelevant for internationals - they don't train the same way we do. 4th in the French Derby second up will be good enough to feature here

This is where the outside barrier may be ok
Start a run from the 600m and swoop around
He does have a good turn of foot and in track work at MV he looked pretty damn good switching legs when needed
Think he can run 2nd if peaks - LG too good for him

Yeah he won't get that at MV sadly, but he was 9l back. Opie wants to ride him a bit closer today.
He knocked off Kolding in the tramway albeit they were all smashed by dream force.
Whether he gets the opportunity to settle closer or not, that's another story.

I can't rate him better than Kolding since both have had their luckless runs. Both are good horses. Still ill maintain TAS has more upside. Can he win the Cox Plate though? Massive ask. My wallet hopes so, my head says keep dreaming, but there's a method to the madness

It's a good edition this year although the race is in danger of being ignored amongst the tremendous excitement of the Bondi where Australias best class 2 3yo horses battle it for supremacy at Randwick

This Cox Plate is at least promising to be way better than last year's imo "boring" event.

I keep going through hypotheticals in my mind about how this race is going to be run, guaranteed by 5pm I'll have TAS running somewhere up Wagga Wagga In my head.
