Catch the train to Moonee Ponds station and from there its a 5 min walk...simply follow the crowd along Puckle St or alternatively the tram up Mt.Alexander Road and get off at Moonee Ponds junction.

You can get tickets on the day at the gate. It's not pre-ticketed like Flemington.

At MV it really doesnt matter where you set up shop because it's so compact you are close to everything no matter where you are. It's not vastly spreadout like Flemington which makes it a really enjoyable day!

Cheers guys, looking forward to it!

As I mentioned in the other thread, they have the best cheese kranskys in the world at MV. Be sure to grab on of em with a bit of onion & sauce.

Little disappointing that they've put the beer prices up again this year, but at least it's Draught and not the Tooheys/Boags garbage we're forced to drink at Flemington.

Best to book a place for dinner the night before if you want to head out along Mount Road for a feed afterwards, which is often a good idea for you non-locals since the line for cabs is freaking ridiculous after the Cox.

But an absolute pearler of a day for racing enthusiasts (not as many bogan w***ers as Flem), you're gonna love it. Guarantee you'll be back next year.

Cheers guys. It will be interesting to see if any of the caulfield cup runners participate? I know Maldivan was scheduled to do so.

Im half keen to put a 10a each way on Zarita but want to make sure it is going to be running first, I know it was Pat Hylands intention.

Heart of Dreams for mine , really liked his run behind whobegotyou last start, when he had no luck, but still came home the stronger of the 2

manhattain rain also an interesting prospect

The one that stands out from a VALUE perspective is Vision & Power @ around 16/1

He ran the same last 400m as whobe last start, has run well at all WFA races in last year & got close to Viewed at WFA a few months back in Syd.

He has won a race at the Valley before & the valley has a natual cushion in the grass with the strathayr surface so you'd reckon this would suit him.

Each way great value.
