Road to Rock is easily the best outsider of the race, 26-1 is ridiculous odds for a horse with his quality and form.

His quality? As in an 'ok' 2000m WFA horse? Their are plenty with more proven quality in the field than him.

His form is good yes but I reckon his quality would be the big question mark.

Thoughts on the race:


El Segundo - Hasn't been his good self this season, and terrible barrier. Fav track sure to help though.
Zipping - Think he's proven he's not up to winning a top race, not sure barrier 2 helps either.
Vision and Power - Run very good in Yalumba, track upgrade to good is not ideal, distance should be fine. Think he'll go well.
Nom Du Jeu - Handicapper and he couldn't run past Miss Marrielle. Bad in Yalumba.
Scenic Shot - Should be in a good spot close enough to make a challenge and the distance is ideal for him. Turnbull run very good, think he'll go well today.
Black Pirahna - Another Toorak horse in the Cox Plate, definite no for mine. Good miler though.
Road To Rock - Not the worst, can run 2000m unlike B.Pirahna and Rock Kingdom who i don't think can.
Speed Gifted - Tight track should be against him.
Whobegotyou - Horse to beat although not much has seperated him with Heart Of Dreams this season.
Heart of Dreams - Tipping this horse to win by getting the perfect run with a lead over the main run-on types. Odds gap between him and Whobe are too much in my opinion considering their close battles.
Rock Kingdom. - Epsom form B-grade, and he barely won it.
Manhattan Rain - Interrupted season, and 3rd up at 2000m having never run that far, no thanks. Couldn't catch Carrara or the Banner and what price would they be here?
So You Think - Can't say i can see a horse being a Cox Plate chance at their 5th race start. Tight track might be against him too. Under the odds due to Bart mania.

Extra Zero - Has run well at the Valley before, and seems like he could peak for a race like this after a good Guineas run.

Hissing Sid - Pretty good in his last race and Alcopop and Shocking aren't in this race.
