He was dire from start to finish. Non competitive in marking contests, only actually attempts to compete at about half the ruck duals, directly cost us goals with lazy kicks and is too slow and lumbering to apply any pressure nowadays.

Not sure what game you were watching. Sure he was cooked late in the game but I suspect he either copped a knock or was just done from the workload.

For people to even suggest that Sinclair would more to the side (not referring to you doc) is laughable IMO.

He's been driving me up the wall all season. Perhaps he's a victim of his own high standards, but he's been very poor this year, and it has cost us big time.

But you're right, neither Lycett or Sinclair are up to replacing him right now.

He's 32 in a couple of months. Do people expect him to be AA quality forever? He is still far better than any supporting ruckman going around. The fact we have him as back up just shows how spoiled we are in the ruck.

Cox was one of our best players tonight, he stuffed up two kicks badly from my recollection and took more contested marks than anyone else on the ground, thought his ruckwork was great and he was in all the right places.

very much this. Coxy is a great player and is capable of winning most contests if his intention was to actually win the contest and not be so hell bent on winning the free. Leave that to the umpires

We try to use them as both rucks and full forwards. I think we should use Sinclair/Lycett/McInnes at FF and give the big men a rest. This would mean Darling would have to move up the ground maybe as the big bodied midfielder we need.

Good post. Maybe we are feeling the loss of Lynch more than we imagined? I know he used to fade out of games but he would take crusial marks that it seems no other player is taking for us.

Who has replaced his role really? It certainly isn't Darling.

Do not want Darling in the middle. He isn't clean enough below his knees and we have enough midfielders fumbling the ball every time they go near it as it is.

The 3rd ruck issue is about 72nd on the list in terms of problems with our current side.

A 3rd ruck makes us awful in terms of locking the ball in the forward line and defending transition.
