Is Craig Bird a rookie or a senior listed player???

The Swans website has him listed as a rookie however from the little I have read here it appears several seem certain that he is eligible to play Round 1.

If he is a rookie doesn't he need to be elevated to the senior list before he can be eligible to play??

Anyway just wondering whether the website has got it wrong

Thanks!!

I think he is rookie listed (could be wrong) but with Malceski going on the Long Term Injury List i would imagine that Bird will be promoted to the senior list.

No he was taken with the swans last pick in the draft. Was on the apprentiship scheme but played the whole of last season with the reserves in the Canberra comp. Someone else will come up for the eski

Craig Bird, Patrick Veszpremi and Brett Meredith were all taken in the main draft, however are still listed on the Swans Site as rookies. Must be an oversight.

Thanks - have placed 50 on Bird at 150-1 to win the Rising Star :thumbsu:
seriously, that is an outstanding bet
for starters, he's the most likely of our kids to get regular senior footy
and if he gets to play what seems his natural role, hard at it on the ball, he's gonna get a lot of attention and praise
good work, lad!

Oh yeeah!

DONE!

I asked him if he'd ever think about coming to Sydney, though, and he said maybe :D

On RWO last night someone said he is now into 100/1.

By the way is 1000/1 for the Brownlow.

If he wins the Rising Star then we are in for a good season because if we have someone who consistently wins the clearances at centre bounces, we have just eliminated our achilles heel.

Players nominated in the National Draft ie Vesperini,Meredith and Bird (in that order) automatically go onto the Senior List.
Those picked in the Rookie Draft go onto the Rookie List and can be upgraded if there is a long term injury and their form warrants it.
As we do have a couple on the long term injury list maybe O'Dwyer could be elevated as he has performed well in the pre season and was mentioned again by Roosy in those who impressed last night.

Well said Bedford, Birdy was a predetermined draft pick way back and quite a lot has been written here and in the press. He will play Round 1 - watch him FLY !:thumbsu:
