That's 350th game, not birthday. ;)

<cliche>Seriously though, it's a richly deserved milestone for a true ornament to the game. </cliche>

Very well done, Sir Craig!

P.S. On Channel Ten news they showed a snippet of the young Braddles running around in the SANFL with Port in a match against Glenelg.

Question: Do Glenelg still wear those spiffing yellow shorts?

Once upon a time, Richmond got around in similar spiffing yellow shorts!

Maybe that's were that soft tag came from!

I've been wondering for a while, if you add Braddles' 349 VFL/AFL games to his 98 SANFL games, is 447 a national record?

My criteria are games played in the VFL, WAFL and SANFL before 1990 count, after that only AFL.

Anyone know of someone who's played more?

Peter Carey played 448 games in the SANFL...add to that 19 state games which adds up to 467 games.

Russell Eberts is 444 games i believe.

So Braddles is right up there with the most err..dunno what the word is....hes played for bloody ages anyway!

What an ironman, plus he can go on next season.

And to think that he was on the Essendon list in 1984...he would be up near the 400 mark now!

A true champion, and I hope the crowd gives him a superb welcome on Sunday.

Don't worry... we will.... hehehe;)

Nah, I don't have to like the bloke (he plays for Carlton fer chrissakes!), but to play that many games THE way he's played them is an awesome effort.

Now, where did I put all of those Pensioner jokes...?:p

Was going thru some old videos the other day, Sturt v Port at Unley in 1983.. and there was Craig Bradley. The guy is a freak to be still running around in 2001.

IN those days SANFL/WAFL games were still counted as league games, so in reality Bradley is sitting on 448 senior games. Amazing stuff.

For the record Sturt won that game by 114 points :D

You left out:
Hard Ball Gets: 0 ;) :p

Just kidding, congratulations to Braddles, hardly ever puts in a bad game, is not one of those players who has gone on too long, as even now he is still getting a kick. And just as well he didn't come to Carlton any earlier, Tucky may have lost his record!

Although Tucky did play 99 reserves games on top of 426 senior games!

Congrat to Braddles. Lasting so long in a youth-dominated game means it is probaly a better achievement than, say, in the eighties.

But combining different league results does open up to argument.

Someone already stated hat the VFL record holder , Tucky, also player a few years in the reserves.

And if you could add up totals then with TFL/VFL then Peter Hudson would be the greatest goalkicker ever !

Onya Braddles, superb effort.

And don't let jealous comments by people such as Goalden Hawk deter you.

Using his statistics, at least if you get a hard ball get on the weekend that'll be one more than Aaron Lord's career total!
Woohoo!:p ;)

Yeah well done Braddles,

Unfortunately, if you has come to Essendon in 1984, you would have definately played in 4 premiership sides by now, and due to your quality as a player, you probably would have played in a 5th premiership at some stage too.

He'll have to be content with two instead of five.

But well done on the 350. A great effort.

He certainly is a fenonimo.... finomimon.... fimomim... fantastic player!

I wish him the best on the weekend. Gosh, that's the SECOND nice post I've written about Carlton players this season - SOS's 300th match was the other. I guess it must be the Jimmy Plunkett influence over me! We want Jimmy back!

congrats braddles, u r a true legend and i'm proud 2 have u playing in my team even before i was born! i hop ethis time we can put in a better effort than our last major milestone(SOS) and at least give essendon a run for their money!

Great efforts Bradley. A champ of the game. It is players like Craig that make football worthwhile.

350 games - amazing.

Fantastic effort from a bloke that is always 100% dedicated to preparation and fitness. For mind, he is a better player and given greater service to Carlton than Kernahan did (again only my view on it). Hardly ever plays a bad game and is a model for consistency. Soft? Rubbish, you cant play for that long at that level by being soft, he isnt and never has been required to go in and get the 'in and under' ball. He does what he is good at, finishing off and delivering/linking better than or equal to just about anyone you could mention.

Fine career, well played.

The only thing i wont join in is the nonsense that if he had played his entire career with the Blues he would now be the all time leading games player. If he had come over as a seventeen year old, does anyone really believe that he would have walked straight into senior footy at the Carlton side that they had then? Something about a 'mosquito' fleet that won them 3 flags in four seasons makes me think he might have done an apprenticeship for at least a couple of seasons at reserves level.

Great effort by Braddles. He was my favourite Port player in the early 80's and I still enjoy watching him play today, even though he plays for Carlton.

He also was a good cricketer. I pretty sure he represented both SA and Victoria at shield level. Also he would of won the 83 Magarey Medal had he not missed the last 6 games of the season because he was representing Australia's under 19 cricket team in England.

Hopefully when he does end his career with Carlton, he will comeback and play one more season with Port in the SANFL so he can reach his 100 game milestone with the club where this great career all began.:)
