Craig Lambert

Was quietly booted from the Lions while the afl office shenanigans were dominating the news.

Should we be looking at getting him back? Apparently had a very good rep for working with the kids at brisbane and gws, but obviously the whole whitfield cover up has tainted the guy to some degree.

Maybe you could take a leaf from his book ay

Seems well respected, and I loved him as a long-sleeved player, but I can't get passed the Whitfield incident.

.

I can get passed it - Grubby Allen was involved don't forget!

Yeah, impossible to tell from this distance who was the instigator and who was just doing what they were told. I can see your point of view.

For me, its just disappointing that none of the folks, including Lambert or Whitfield, involved stood up and said "Nah, I don't want any part of this."

And I'd guess that our current player welfare staff are pretty good. We don't seem to have many recent problems, fingers crossed.
Imagine if he did a Whitfield with Dusty. The afl wouldn't try and hide it as they tried with Gwplastic

I'd take him back in a heartbeat!
Was disappointed when he left us, but I rate him work (outside the Whitfield saga).
If we don't take him, someone will. You forgive and forget pretty easy in football, just ask Gillon and his Norm Smith Medal presenter.
To do what exactly , isn't he a welfare manager to assist in recention, let's be honest the only specialist coach we need right now is a goal kicking ace. Not sure how he improves us I'd be spending football cap elsewhere

Many of our posters were hoping we would make an offer. With his wife Mel they are fondly remembered at the Giants and several of our interstate draftees have suggested they got them over the homesickness and made them confortable with us.
The Whitfield affair was a cluster *, and probably our first. Possible to read it as Craig Lambert's error was having too much loyalty to the players.
It did penalise the Lions through no fault of theirs and I have no knowlege of anything there.
