Oh there absolutely is no doubt he should be the one to do it. The question is does he see himself coaching long enough to oversee the transition.
I've had enough succession plans for a thousand lifetimes.
Hopefully we lock up fly on along term contract this year ,rather than dragging it into next year.

Did Fly really say a while ago that he doesn't see himself at Collingwood long term?
I will be devastated if this guy leaves after a short tenure. We would have to look back at this period as a flash in the pan. It would be heartbreaking.

Not so much that, more that he is noncommittal about years into the future. Pretty in line with his live in the now approach, and a bit more of a balance in life than the sickos like Malthouse who want to coach forever (love you Mick)

I love what Craig and the coaching team have brought to Collingwood
The team selection and list management that emphasised experience over youth has led to previous success
But it was imo exposed last night and as the year went on
Due to list management there is not a lot of youth to select… and it wouldn’t have changed the outcome necessarily
But the inclusion of Allan would’ve added some youthful run late in the game
Something the lions seemed to have over the pies
Hopefully the team adds some under 25 players over the summer and prioritises player development
Because in my opinion this era is done… especially if the likes of Elliot, mihocek leave

He simply said he doesn't see himself as a long term coach.
So he doesn't want to be coaching in 15 years time?
Considering he's only been with us since 22, I wouldn't be concerned.

Forget about the 15 years, he was non-committal about 5 years.
That's what got my attention.
Did I hear Fly say he thought Mihocek played well? Surely not.

If you can’t be sure you heard it I have to question your cognitive functioning.
The presser was a mixed bag.. Would be incredibly tough to do. I heard the Checkers comments and in hindsight he is probably protecting the player.
He was certainly gracious in defeat. So the media can't fault him for that.

It makes perfect sense when you consider that Mihocek is sitting on a 2 year contract that the club really want him to sign.
Fly was effusive in his praise of Richards this time last year as well.
