Interesting. Personally Wellingham>Pendles in the hardness stakes and I’d never label Pendles a flake.
Don’t you know Sco? Any player who leaves the pies automatically becomes a flake according to certain posters here…

I assume he was using flake to mean nutter, as opposed to snowflake.

So Tapping has left, their Head of Medical has retired, Birchall has retired and Neale contemplated leaving.

Brisbane has this sense of slide despite having so much unfinished business...
Well yeah, top 4 three years in a row now? Hard to maintain. They aren’t even that young like people think they are and the reality is their midfield lacks top level class imo.

Ah well, better luck next rebuild lads.

The last one I can think of won a flag with us, not bad considering we've got two in 6 decades.
I'm NOT going down that track Carringbush.

I have problems with a number of people on this site that have agendas and I made a public commitment at the start of this mess to put that aside and look forward and ignore all attempts to involve me in retrospective blame casting.

Don't try again.

Going down what track? You replied to my comment to another poster and I replied to yours.

And now you're alluding that you have a problem with posters like myself who apparently have some sort of agenda. Don't know what agenda you're talking about.

You allude that everyone should move on, ok everybody Jonbe has said move on, everyone must comply. No 'retrospective blame casting' is allowed.

Or you could just put everyone on ignore, that might make things more comfortable for you.

If what you mean by 'don't try again' is don't post, then I've got bad news for you, or just put me on ignore.

Your choice, it is a forum for discussion and everyone's right here to have a say.

Have a nice day.

Uhuh funny you mention nutters considering I quoted jonmacTrag and the response came from jonbe54 who took ownership! I could have maybe copped that if it was flakey in the Neale sense, but the nutter sense.

The Back to the future Delorian is involved, but this time it has gone forward to the past. .

Going forward at the end of the day the bottom line is that you can reach out to people to ensure the strategic issues are prioritised to optimise the tactical output.

Doesn't really count when you just switch to your alt account.
I assume that he needed the alt account because with the amount of posters he has on ignore on the first one all he could see was blank pages.

But at least he's moved on......

I was wondering when he'd finally have more posters on ignore than off it. Guess that was the result!

Yeap, extremely early days but as a life supporter I get good vibes about how the club has conducted them selves lately, punctuated by the McRae conclusion.

Wright, McRae and the individuals in black, big ticks from me!

Enjoyed listening to him on AFL360 and hearing that he has already had an hour+ conversation with Nick Daicos. Huge advantage having not only the best kid in the comp but giving him a 2-month head start on what he needs to work on, where he'll probably start his career (positional wise) etc.

Interesting exchange with Gerard Whately on AFL360 …

Whately: “The team that is favourite for the Grand Final was 17th two years ago. And that’s where you pick up your journey from in 17th. This is a challenging competition, and 7 and 9 from last year are playing in the grand final, and 17th from two years ago. Does it give you that trajectory that if you make a whole lot of good decisions and you coach the team really well, you won’t be shackled by people who think you’re going to spend a long time down the bottom?”

McRae: “Yeah, it gives me great comfort being at Hawthorn this year. Things weren’t going well, then half way through the year they beat Bulldogs, Brisbane then drawing with Melbourne. That’s pretty good form with a young developing team. So I think you can turn things around quickly. The gap between the bottom and the top isn’t as great as it may once have been, but we’ve got to create those habits, form those winning habits and behaviors which I continue to mention, it’ll take some time, there’ll be some patience required, it’s exciting the journey we’re going to take”

The interesting thing for me about that exchange is that McRae forms an answer which is positive, gives the fans hope, but he said it in a way that there is nothing there that is a headline, or a quotable sound bite, or something that can be pinned on him at some future stage.

He’s clearly quite PR savvy. Obviously he’s in the honeymoon period where the media are throwing him softballs, and that’ll continue until Round 1 next year …

… but I’d imagine the hardest thing about the Collingwood job is taming the media, and calibrating member expectations - and from early days it looks like he’s got a good handle on that.
