Wow, I had a feeling The Pies would not be as bad as many thought this season, but he has totally reinvigorated and refreshened the Collingwood footy club, and the players clearly are buying into what he is selling.

Hate to say it, but he has been a terrific Nd astute appointment by the Carringbush.

They are playing a bold, attacking, non conservative/chipping around brand of footy which is very enjoyable to watch as a neutral observer (not happy as a Carlton fan though lol)

I honestly think we have seen enough that this is not a case of new coach bounce either, The Pies are legit finals contenders in 2022.

Playing a side with some genuine forwards, albeit not tall ones. First time in a few years.

Fresh voice doing plenty to reinvigorate the list.

It's good for now but sides can't play at this intensity for a full season. They young kids will tire by mid to late season but he has shown the supporters there is plenty to work with and playing style will be fun to watch so come along for the ride. His media work is exceptional too.

They’ve had a nice start to the season. This could take the wind out of the sails a bit. To be honest other than Daicos and Quanor the jury is out on a lot of the Collingwood youth. They have a bit of top end talent that is experienced which certainly helps.

Collingwood should be a decent team. Look through their 22 tonight and it's stacked with good players in their prime. Both Geelong and Collingwood had the same number of players under 24 in their team tonight.

Collingwood were a finals team in 2020 then had a shocking run with form and fitness last year. Why wouldn't they be expected to push for finals this year with such a mature team?

Pies really need a full back or two I thought. Was always going to be a struggle and has been for years in that regard.

Both Geelong and Collingwood had the same number of players under 24 in their team tonight.

8 to 4 players less than 50 games actually. No prizes for which is which.

I am enjoying the style of play. Squeezing the opposition, plenty of numbers at each fall of the ball.

It will be a style that will have sizable momentum swings and if it breaks down, susceptible to being slingshot

The key will be how they transition the senior players over the next 1-3 years

Beware the Brendan Sanderson effect. Dreams of just doing the intense fast stuff for longer, then the flag is ours.

It's so easy in theory

Yeah, this.

Are they really that young and rebuilding?

They're just a mixture of old, young and some in their prime.

Reminds me of our first year under Bolton - we had 7 wins and played good footy, whilst everyone praised our young squad when in reality, we were just being carried by our older heads and some handy players.

How they balance it up to genuinely contend will be interesting.

The difference is Pies aren't relying on the old heads anymore. Something that Geelong relied on despite the age profiles.

A few teams would love players like Quaynor, N Daicos, McReery, Henry coming through making just a big as impact as the 30+ year olds.
