Voted Eade as you would expect.

The coaching panel must be changed as part of the "new" era.
I hope Craig stays as part of the new ticket - we can ill afford to lose his expertise.

I still favour a joint ticket - why not 2 head coaches?
1 for team preparation, and 1 for strategy/tactics on matchday?
Not as if we can't afford it, or are simply too conservative when it comes to innovation?
Note the date on this post (malthouse reading my posts??)Link

If the Crows lose at home against the Tigers, that would be the nail in Craig's coffin.

Yeah but Craig got Norwood into a grand final.

The similarities are that they are both very soft towards the players, they have both openly praised mediocracy and tactically they are both been very questionable. Brad Hardie summed it all up Wallace was hard and demanded 100% whereas the players knew that they could give 80% and Rhode would pat them on the back and not make any hard decisions. It was very interesting to see that Rhode totally agreed with Craig about coaching in the SANFL and AFL not being different. The fact that Craig openly praised McLeod who is playing totally unspiried football is just further fuel to the fire.

Neil Craig is the perfect choice as an assistant, he is a bit of a yes man and a good person as a go-between between the players and the senior coach. As a senior coach no way.

But how long until the lycra?

Nah give us Rocket Rodney Eade,
Who'll p1ss off that oompa-loompa Reid
The man who made the Swans a force
The man who'll put us back on course.
Very good dyertribe. Very good :D

Craig.

Im only one of two who think he is a better candidate than Eade?
Your kidding. We cant be reading from the same hymnbook then.
It's the "I disagree with aything Rucci says thing".
Lot's of people are kidding themselves if they think that Eade was a great coach. He simply took over from one (who had set up the right people within the clubs structure).
BUT as I have repeatedly said I will support whatever the AFC decide.

I'd argue with conviction that you aren't suitably educated in regards to Eade's record at the Swans. To claim his pioneering, outstanding and continued success with Sydney is a result of Barassi's good but not great tenure before him is not only ridiculous, but ignorant to boot.

I point you to my post of 5 August 2004:

Eade:

Rocket took over from the retiring Barassi at the end of 1995 when then Swans had finished 12th with eight wins - following a dismal period which saw them win that many in the previous three seasons.

Eade steered them to the minor Premiership and a Grand Final in his first season - where after trailing by only 2 points at halftime they were beaten down by the rampaging Carey, McKernan, Archer and Stevens.

He piloted the Swans to finals appearances in four of the next five years, recruiting and drafting solidly by adding the likes of Schwass, Maxfield, Ball, Williams, Barry, Kennelly, Hall [and Goodes] to his list - successfully replacing the lifeblood of the club, Lockett, Kelly and Roos along the way.

Eventually the message wore thin after seven years at the helm and it was time to move on - and his successor Paul Roos is still reaping the rewards of Eade's frugal and at times brilliant list management.

In conclusion, I don't know how you can argue that Wallace and Eade are only "impact" coaches following on from their years of continued success with their clubs - both on and off the field.

It's high time those with big statements such as yours backed it up with FACT.

Yes of course the man who gets the water from the well is far far more productive than the man who dug it!

Winning a minor Premiership off the back of 16 wins and a Grand Final appearance after taking over from a 12th-placed finish with 8 wins under the previous coach; and then maintaining regular success for years after that is cutting Barassi's lunch?

You believe what you want to believe. Your beliefs are erroneous and self-serving, but you're welcome to them.

Barassi was a crap coach at Sydney. He may have ranted and raved his way to some VFL premierships but once he got to the Swans he was past it.

I voted Eade. Obviously!

C'mon Crows... wake up to yaselves. With Wallace out of the picture, Rocket Rod is our man. Hand him the broom! :D

Rodney Eade for me. Nothing against Craigy as a bloke but he is a gogo mobile compared to Rodney who is a ferrari;)
Wait...thought you were going to tear up your membership ticket if Eade coached? Worst decision the club could ever make? Ridiculously negative coach?

Just tells you how much I rate Craig;)

Eade is the best available. He wouldn't be my first choice but hell, beggers can't be choosers:(

vote for 1 for Rocket

Too many coaching mistakes by Craig already and has only had 6 games, We can't afford for him to learn the trade at the footy clubs expense.

I would have gone for O'Donnell but in the now two horse race I would gofor Eade . Not because I dont think Craig is that bad I just dont want someone who has been part of the system that has brought us to our present position. Should also be a major sweep out in the match day box.

I voted for Eade.

For the following reasons:

1. I believe the entire coaching panel should be replaced. They are out of ideas and we need a new approach.

If Craig stays I fear the broom we want to see go thru the club will stay inthe cupboard.

2. Our past three coaches have all had VFL/AFL playing and or coaching experience

To pick Craig who has no AFL playing experience would be a real drop in standards by the AFC. It also wouldnt fit in with the best practices of other non Vic clubs. All of them have coaches with Victorian experience.

3. From what I have seen over two months I do not think Craig is up to it.
Agreed, lets go with Eade.

Eade.

I doubt that if Eade does get the job, that Craig will stay on with the Crows. Hopefully some of the others follow him out the door and we get some new people in.

Seeing as others have written poems, I will try as well.

Mary had a little lamb.
She also had a bucket.
She put them on the mantle peice,
to see if they could come up with a process using all due dilligence to determine who is the best fit for the AFC, although that person may not be the "best" available coach, within an acceptable time frame of not less than 3 months, provided the answer is Neil Craig.
