keysborough isn't the best place..
carrum downs, skye and Sandhurst are like pretty much the same suburb, I don't even know why they have different names.

That's what I thought after doing a drive through. Is a run down depressing place is the impression that i got.

Basically carrum downs = established part, sandhurst and Skye = newer areas, mostly in estates

What do people have to say about the place these days?
Shit hole. Too far from the city, nothing to do for kids and looks pretty ugly

Cranbourne > Sunshine. You actually can't walk the streets of Sunshine and feel safe.

I went to the Melton Trots not long ago.... Never going there again....

Haha yeah I work in Melton, such a shithole. It's all full of druggies and alcho's.

Nice place, just shit people.

I've always been a Cranbourne bagger but recently bought a house there. The old part is a bit of a hole but my street is really nice and feels really safe. I'm not a bogan and I'm on a well above average income. Moved there, as a single $350k is a big enough mortgage for one person. As far as it is from the city, its still pretty convenient for work. I work in Hawthorn and it only takes me 30 mins plus depending on traffic. That's not so bad, most people would take 30 mins to get to work. After a game at the G parking at Rod Laver I'm straight on the monash and home in 30 mins before most people are on the train.

I live in a nice house with all the modern conveniences, I would rather live in a new house than a run down cold place closer to the city. Being a female I love having my internal garage access, much safer than getting out of a car in the city. It's not so bad after all.

I have city views from my desk at work,no need to pay for it.

Now I want to live in Cranbourne.

Do you have any space or privacy from your neighbours. Houses i saw there, and new ones at that, couldn't fit a match stick between them, why they weren't classed as town houses i dunno?

yeah I know exactly what you mean, its actually quite good.
close to everything, not as dangerous as people think, all the new areas there putting up like ranfurlie and the other one I cant remember look really nice.

Not too bad, neighbor can't see into my house at all. I actually have a really nice well maintained park right behind my house and my back fence has a gate that leads directly to it. Great for kids or someone with a dog.

I guess it depends if someone is trying to squeeze a big house onto a small block. I think if you were building you'd want to consider a bigger piece of land.

Yeah, nah.

How about getting a cab home after a night out in the city? That will be $250. Cheeers....

I don't really drink so yeah I would never have to do that. You are probably still young and feel the need to go into the city and get drunk (which i definitely don't) but where will you live when you want settle down and buy a home? Good luck buying anything near the city unless you inherit a pile of cash. I'm not from Cranbourne, I grew up in a nice eastern suburb but I can't afford to buy anything decent in that area. I don't want to live in an old run down house which would still cost over $500k. I don't mind driving, I like living in a new house. A lot of people here knocking outer suburbs will live in an outer suburb one day fact, because you need $1.5m to buy a decent house in a better suburb. Or you could rent forever which I would never want to do.

Oh and my sister got a cab from the airport to here and it was about $60 or $70 and the airport is a lot further away than the city. She now lives 10km from the city and it takes her about as long as me to get home from central places. Difference being a direct freeway vs annoying little skinny city streets. Her suburb is also more dangerous than mine (western suburb)

$70 for cab to cranbourne from the airport?

I smell bullshit. Cost me a little more than that to get to Oakleigh.
