Must sack Bomber this week!

before you say it yes.....there were plenty of poor players but more often than not he just dosen't get the players up before the game

not a coaches @##@hole

why wait? he is gone next year anyways, lets get on the front foot and get the best coach in the waiting

Geelong sickens me to the point death. ****in shittest club going. No heart. No passion. All the talent in the world can only get you so far. I have defended these blokes for ages but now have lost all reason to do so. So many overrated blokes who get the easiest of games. I guess we just have to hope Selwood, Hawkins, Prismall etc are superstars in 5 years and can carry us to a flag.

Because players like Corey, Ling, Kelly won't

I would sack Thompson cause the players still have not learnt to kick the ball in seven years.

A terrible game by Geelong and shows just where this team is at. Only Mooney seems to be any sort of target and why the f**k don't the midfielders kick goals???. Bartel can hold his head up in this regard but fair dinkum it's as though they've been told they must pass it to a forward and Nablett and Hawkins are not up to it yet and won't be for a minimum two years.

There's 2 things that stuck out most in my mind today:

1/ We do not have enough mids with good disposal
2/ King is finished, end of story.

Harley, King, Ottens, Milburn (sorry dasher). will not see a premiership or even a top four finish.
Ling, Corey, Enright, Johnson, Scarlett may be towards the end of their reign when and if it happens.
Any hope lies with the abletts, chapman, Bartel, stokes, Mackie, Selwood, Hawkins, Varcoe and the other youngun's.

If we can build a reasonable defence around this group with Hawkins and Nablett (if he improves) at the peak of their powers and if Blake continues to develop like he is then maybe we may get a look in because it is becomming obvious to blind freddy that this team is simply not good enough to take on the powerhouses of the AFL.

I don't think it's because they have no heart or passion, I simply believe they are not quite good enough and are still carrying the scars from last year and our coach and his staff are bereft of ideas (how the hell can simpson be allowed to get 41 possies!)

The point here is that we could have won, so why be so bitter. There was so many 'what ifs' about this game.

Mooney deciding to chip a pass within the forward 50, not once but twice. Both not working. Also his astray kicking in the last quarter also didn't lead us to victory.

Coaching moves were a little strange, with Bomber probably looking worse off. But as usual the Ling move to FF paid off highly.

The coach can only inspire so much, why did it take us until the 3rd quarter to then come out and take on our opponents ??? Why did we take so long for this to happen ??

Inspirational play by someone willing to do so, that can change anything. For that to be done by a rookie says something about the GFC. We know we have a problem with leadership, so we need to fix that.

That's something I've seen out of this game, I hope they fix that and move on.

you must be joking mate , could have won , the roos were the best part of 40 points up and stopped running hard when they knew they were home ....the final margin flattered geelong ......it was a 8 goal loss too a bottom side ...

That may all be well and true, but the fact is we didn't win. It had nothing to do with Mooney missing those shots in the last quarter either. Where we lost it is putting unnecessary pressure on teammates by either handballing to a guy flat-footed or not be willing to do the 1%ers in the first half when the game was on the line. Quite simply, the Kangaroos wanted it more. They were prepared to get in and under and make things happen, whereas for 2 and a half quarters it seemed that Geelong were just standing around waiting for someone else to kick start things, or for the ball to bounce their way.

Yep that's right. Another pathetic loss and everyone's ready to forgive them. What are the excuses this week? We weren't interstate. We weren't playing at a ground we've never been before (like that matters). We didn't have major injury concerns. Although we did have Mark Thompson in charge, that makes one hell of a difference.

You mentioned he moved Ling forward and he got 3 goals. Very true. But he also put him on Wells early and let him cut us up in the second quarter. Answer that one Bumbler (Thompson's more accurate nickname).

agree - lost to a bottom 4 team who were miles ahead on our home track before the token comeback.

Any f...cker who offers excuses, positives etc represent the cancer thise clubs doesn't need. What it does need aresupporters demanding the board make the decision they didn't have the guts to make last year and go for a new direction. We are going nowhere under the current joker.

Well put. I think I've found a friend.

Careful though, there's a possie who were busy cheering those duds off today who will take you to task for such a view. Can't dare criticise the little darlings.

Very dissapointing game today, one of the worst performances in recent years (and there has been plenty)

Although, we shouldn't really be suprised this is Geelong we are talking about!

The sharks are beggining to circle Bomber, time is running out for you unless things turn around in a hurry.

This team is all talk and no action, what new game plan boys?

If we lose to Richmond next week, then our year is all but over and the axe will be coming to Bomber Thompson.

On the plus side, well done to VFL boys on another great win (at least they can play proper football)

It must be Groundhog day, HAWTHORN last Year, ROOS this year....They might have done a favor and ended the reign of a coaching staff that is devoid of original ideas and cannot react to any situation. That game has past some players Good- Bye unfortunately. Play Dj,Grima etc give Hawkins a rest. Selwood is sa gun

The Ox said it all today, Laidley had an easy day as Thompson was only reactive and not once was he Pro active. The useless bastaarrd has no creative skills as a coach problem is if they ditch him in the next month or so Someone like Hinkley etc will coach till they find someone else. To me that make no improvement at all.

And this sums up the Geelong side of the past two seasons.

On a good note, i got $100 at 14 to 1 , thompson would be first to go earlier this year...Give it up boys

Cheering for duds, or cheering for your team.

I don't know who is worse, those that think telling their team they are duds and EXPECT them to win everyweek, or those supporting their team to the fullest, even through losses they should have won.

In fact I know who is worse.

The team may have lost, so be it. Sure the Kanga's had a greater sense of passion out there today, I'm not saying that isn't true.

But consistently calling your team duds, do you think that will not only change them, the coach or your future views about the team ??

It will only breed a constant lack of heart within the team, and yourself. It will only bring about further anger. This feeling (anger) is an emotional reaction, to thoughts of "I want the world to be the way I want it, not the way it is".

Lose that crap, you don't need it, neither do the team. Look at the word supporter, the first part of it is SUPPORT. How are we as supporters supposed to EMPOWER the team, by bloody clapping and cheering even through losses such as this.

I totally disagree with you on this, why be a bad loser, isn't that what we teach children ??? Be proactive, shift to thoughts that empower yourself and others, success will then bloom from that.

Look at the word supporter, the first part of it is SUPPORT.

and the second part of that word is???????????????

ERRRRRRRRRRRR we are good at that part.!!!!!!!!
