Re: Create an AFL Guernsey

What have you done to poor fremantle!

I like geelongs but I would probably cut out a line to make less white. Really really like St Kilda's clash. Sydneys clash guernsey isn't different enough on the front. Same situation with West Coast, two navy blue and gold guernseys doesn't do the job a clash guernsey should.

Yes Fremantle's guernseys are a bit different but I think it goes alright.
I thought about taking another white stripe out from Geelong's clash guernsey but I thought taking one out was sufficient enough plus it would have made the guernsey a bit uneven so I left it in. Yeah I really like the clash I did for St.Kilda. Sydneys clash should probably be different, I was thinking maybe a white guernsey with a large red outline of a swan half placed on the side of the front and half placed on the side of the back, maybe an outline of the sydney opera house in the background; I think that would look awesome. I would have done it but I'm using Paint here so I left it as it is.
I don't like the fact that West Coast has two types of blues. I think they should stick to just one and I think navy is the better colour so that's why navy is in both of them. The clash guernsey has got three stripes both on the back and front, on each side, 2 stripes are light colours and the other is of course navy and they wear white shorts and white socks. I think that's sufficient enough for a clash guernsey. The main guernsey is predominantly dark with gold wings and wear navy shorts and predominatly navy socks. So there's definately enough contrast between both guernseys.

Find a guernsey on this site (usually found on this thread and the gold coast board) or another site such as footyjumpers.com and copy the guernsey to use it as a template by using Paint or Photoshop to colour it in white (to make a blank guernsey). Then use your own patterns and colours to create your guernsey. Save it. If you want other people to see it then sign up to a photo storing website such as photobucket.com. Upload your guernseys to your collection, copy the URL of the guernsey and go to this site and create a new post or thread. Go to insert image and paste the URL in. Submit your post and you're done.

Seen as the away guernsey is the italian flag... to be honest, they need to just drop the green and red and it's perfect, such as their away guernsey reversed.

I really like Melbournes and Hawthorns, probably more as third guernseys, for example if Melbourne can't wear a red clash guernsey they would then wear their white guernsey. I would rather see the clubs colours maintained then most teams wear white.

I'm just being picky and offering suggestions, there's a lot of great design in there.

As for the Eagles, you will never win me over there. Since our inception we have worn royal blue, in our three grand finals we have worn royal blue. I don't mind a royal and navy blue being used, we are blue and gold, the shade doesn't matter. If any was dropped, I would rather it navy.

Yeahhh it's probably not the best of colour combinations. Purple and White goes alright. Maybe Purple and Gold?
White is usually the colour that avoids the clash. Hawthorn uses a white strip at the moment and the demons used that silver guernsey last season. The club colours can still be maintained. The blue is outlined so it still incorporates all the club colours.
The logo has navy in it, so I figured that was the colour they should stick with, it comes up good too. One time, navy was actually the primary colour used on the 'wing' guernsey. It was around '95-'98 I think.

We still kept the royal away, that is our main guernsey even though we do wear it away. We wore it in all grand finals. Navy is for merchandise reasons and we can't wear it away because of the number of teams it clashes with.

Re: Create an AFL Guernsey

What do u think?
Before I start giving comments to each guernsey. The afl logo and sponsors are placed in the wrong areas. In future please put it in the right areas because it's so distracting. If you can't, don't put them in. It's not essential.
Sydney Swans guernsey:
Sydney Swans logo is way too big. Imagine if they had the Carlton monogram shoved in your face. Wouldn't be so appealing would it?
The shapes have no sense of relevency, orginality or appeal.
The guernsey is very very plain. A triangle, logo and an odd looking shape doesn't make the guernsey interesting.

Overall it's a very poor guernsey.

Spiderweb guernsey:
The spiderweb is very sketchy and unattractive. The spiderweb doesn't stand out.
While I'm assuming that it's a clash guernsey it's very very plain.
The idea is there but the excecution is something you need to really really work on if you want to impress anyone here. Even if you have Paint you can still make some quality designs if you put the time in.

Sharks Guernsey:
The sharks logo is cringeworthy, please refrain from using it.
The numbers should be white to gain the most amount of contrast possible.
The drawing of the teeth is very rough, the colour used doesn't suit the teeth. Maybe a white instead?
Again just not enough detail. The fact that you had black numbers on a dark guernsey proves that you really lack the skills to create a good guernsey. I might be wrong but from what I've seen at the moment, there's nothing to be impressed about.

Rhino Guernsey:
I like this colour scheme, it goes well with the rhino.
The logo is a tad too big. The logo itself is unattractive.
Again the numbers are the wrong colour. The lines are not straight, a little more eye to detail would help.
Overall it's the much better guernsey than the others.

Falcons Guernsey:
The name of the team displayed on the guernsey is completely unnecessary.
Colour scheme is good.
Guernsey is so plain.
Ordinary guernsey.

The Eagles guernsey
This guernsey is not too bad, I like the logo and it's a good size.
Colour scheme is good. The numbers are not placed in the centre of the square, this is distracting. The triangles on the back are completely unnecessary and wrecks the guernsey.
This could potentially be a good guernsey but the back reminds me too much of the horrible hawks guernsey that came out a few years back with the diamonds and stuff. Completely unnecessary.

Re: Create an AFL Guernsey

Dont hold back Paddy ... just let it all out ... though you've pretty much nailed it ... and i think everyone else was taking a "if you dont have anything nice to say" angle ...

Its my first time making the guernsey and paint sucks. U try "paddy thinging" and make a guernsey and ill comment on it(more like criticise).
