    NT & ACT don't (or shouldn't) qualify.

Vic or WA. Don't think SA would be that great. That state seems to be struggling for high end talent.

There should be a system where the various regions of states have a playoff series, midweek games if necessary. This would not only ensure the best regions are decided internally, settling local squabbles and the like, but players would be ranked by an overly complicated points system.

This system would then dictate who played for the various states - by pure mathematics - during the state of origin carnival where all states play each other home and away. The points allocated earlier would then be reassesed by a system of values decided every year according to their personal criteria by a panel of former gun players, leading journalists and those types who delude themselves they are both.

This calculation - you could call it equalised zoning - would then attribute each player a value. And drafts picks already have their corresponding value.

So as the draft unfolded, each team would be able to bid on the pick to get the player they want first. All picks would be in trade by all clubs. And the next two year's picks.

Obviously these negotiations would be too complex to be conducted by humans, so teams would invest in algorithms and big computers and stuff to outwit each other. Then there'd be a cap on processor speeds, and Eddie would crack it.

They did, but NT stand alone would be a chance of beating Tas.

Not sure about that how many players on AFL lists are from the NT Riolli's McDonald-tipinwaddi? I can think of 5 Tassie players just at the Lions.
