Selwood to defence and play the Luke Hodge role as he has lost pace. But my craziest idea is to play players in the role they have played best.
Blitz defence, Tuohy defence, Menegola wing, Kolo as key defender, Duncan inside mid. O’Connor run with/tagger.

In fact, we are severely lacking class in our defence. This is how I want the back seven to be Rd1 2022.

New inside mids: Duncan, Simpson and Bews

Half back: Danger- has pace, strength, marking and attack on the ball - would genuinely be amazing if he would agree to it- if not forward pocket

Rohan: midfield Tagger coming off the wing or back pocket - would be a gun at it

Miers: he is too cute with his dinky kicks and let’s be honest a bit soft- either he plays deeeeeeep forward pocket or onballer as an inside mid in the bankers to learn to be comfortable inside against bigger bodies and kick in normal flow of game- then back to flank at afl

Esava- Trade Fort out and play Esava as full time solo ruck in VFL until he warrants a game as an afl ruckman - otherwise he is a banker and full forward replacement when tommohawk retires

Blitz: given Esava is playing in the bankers or first ruck- Blitz is a full time tagger and second ruck

Occonor- play as an inside mid and forward flank for a year- he will have some shockers but will get better and is all class- you can then convert him to a tagger who has tricks

SDK and Krueger (fingers crossed) key backs for the whole year - Henry and Stewart as third up to help the youngsters out and danger and Rohan of the back flanks to give class

Guthrie Brothers to Gold Coast for a first rounder - warmer weather means Guthrie can finally open his own ice cream shop

Heres a few tweaks i'd make that would change a few things for the better IMO.

Nick Stevens steps right into the backline. Quick enough. Big enough with skills both in defensive ability and with ball in hand.
It will free up Tommy Stewart even more. Gives us 2 quality ball users out of our backfield.
Mark O'Conner goes back there as well. He's not a great MID nor a Tagger.
Max Holmes plays on the WING. Thats it. 22 game son it's all yours. He is gonna be a ripper IMO.
Blitz plays as our Number 1 RUCK.
Talia plays Full Back.
If somehow Max Lynch gets traded in the Freddie deal. The two scenarios above won't happen. Maybe....??
Cooper Stephens plays...and he plays in the GUTS. I'm high on Coops always was since he was a 17yo kid.
If we are wanting a TAGGER. One from left field for me is Stefan Okunbor. Big brute who can run all day.

Higgins, Hendo, ZGuthrie, Dahl, Kolo, Rohan & Atkins are gonna struggle to get a game for me.
