Who is your favourite to win the 2013 Crichton? Place your top 5 favourites, with a roughie.

1. Watson: Difficult not to back him to win his 4th Crichton in 5 years, which would get him close to Hird territory. Freak.
2. Zaharakis. Huge chance to win his second Crichton. Could easily finish his career with 3 or 4 IMO.
3. Hurley. If he plays a full year, huge chance - as shown in 2011 when he came third with 18 games.
4. Stanton. 8 years in a row Stanton has been in the top 6. Huge effort. Would be great if he finally won one. Could thrive with Goddard and others (Zaka) copping the main tag. Even if he never does, bloke deserves to go down as an Essendon great.
5. Goddard. Doubt it, but stranger things have happened.
Next in line: Howlett, Heppell and Ryder (didn't consider them roughies though)

Rougie: Hibberd

* Check out Fletcher's placings - what a superstar. Anyone have any idea on where he sits for most Crichton votes ever?

I'd still be backing Jobe at this point.

I'd forgotten that Tayte had finished as high as he did in 2009- shows how important it is for us that he gets back to that form. Please Tayte..

Also, Zaharakis finished sixth this year despite missing nine matches- if that doesn't underline what a huge loss he was, then nothing else will.

My smoky, if I'm to choose one, would be Heppell.

Also, Myers for top ten.

This is what I want

Hurley
Goddard
Hibberd
Watson
Zaharakis
Winderlich
Heppell
Carlisle
Ryder
Fletcher
Howlett.

Rationale

Hurley - has the most talent on the list.
Goddard - should be set for a big first year.
Hibberd- has ability to get to AA level.
Watson - We know how good he is.
Zaharakis - Read Watson
Winderlich - Classy and smart player
Heppell - Continuing his development.
Ryder - Playing consistent footy.
Fletcher - Top 10 means that he can play in 2014
Carlisle - Need a tall back to have a good year.

Watson has to be favourite; barring injury he just performs. A stronger midfield around him is just going to make that easier.

Zaharakis and Heppell are the other two IMO.

I'd be genuinely surprised if one of those three did not win it.

You've double up the 2009 and 2010 as McPhee is still there and same votes etc.
Well spotted! I wonder how many of us just looked at the lists and thought nothing of it. In fact, 2010 was one of the more interesting:

Jobe Watson 291
Heath Hocking 241
Jason Winderlich 231
Dustin Fletcher 225
Brent Stanton 167
Nathan Lovett-Murray 164
Mark McVeigh 156
Ben Howlett 154
Alwyn Davey 144
Angus Monfries 143
