Cricket Broadcasts to stop in Regional WA

Hi All,

With the changes in regional broadcasting with Win now being owned by Channel 10 rather than C.9, regional WA will lose live broadcasting of the cricket.

How will ACB handle this & what are your thoughts

Yeah, the uproar wouldve been huge if they hadn't sorted this out by November.

The contract says it must be national. There was talk of this last summer, and word was SBS would have broadcast the Sydney Test and the ODI series to all WIN regions (almost everywhere outside the five metro) if the 9/WIN deal hadn't been extended for six months in December.

As for whose fault it is, well, Nine wanted to take 50% (up from 30% I think) of WIN's advertising to make up the loss of advertising on both Nine and WIN. I have no idea if Southern Cross are paying that high a rate or not.
