Fox Sports News last night: Brett Lee and Ed Cowan - both from NSW, and both pleading with the selectors to pick Nick Maddinson for the Boxing Day Test. The argument was that the guy has so much potential, so he's worth persisting with. So now we're now picking a bloke, based on what MIGHT happen??? What happens if he gets out first ball in Melbourne - would he still be worth persisting with? Maybe the guy simply isn't up to Test standard, and with an important tour of India just around the corner, I would have thought that we'd be trying to settle the top 6 NOW for that trip: surely Maddinson won't be on that plane!!!

They all a bunch of #campaigners. They weren't saying this about Ferguson after Hobart on a wicket that was doing something.

Good luck to Sayers ever getting a test match.

It'll probably correspond with the Crows' Decade of Dominance: both scenarios are about as likely as each other :)

Jake will certainly have to wait until Boof moves on to greener pubs pastures - we couldn't have any suggestion of nepotism in Australian cricket selections, could we!

Once Pakistan get to 452 they will have scored the 2nd highest 4th innings score in test history. The first is 645 in the timeless test between England and South Africa in 1939 so this would be the highest in a 5-day test. At the moment they are 8th with 6 needed to get to 7th.

EDIT : They are now 6th.

England 4 or 5 for around 640 654 in the late 1920's/early 1930's I know is number 1 - Timeless Test but had to stop as the boat sailing back home was leaving - think they had to make 820 696 I know is number 1, so what's 2 and 3?
