True but better opportunities is different to changing teams each season for an extra $ IMO
Sorry meant to write 25% there, but point still stands.

In essence though I think that the movement of players between the franchises is pretty similar as with the states in the shield. How many guys have moved when they are genuinely wanted? Other than Hogg and Hussey that I can think of, the majority of Australian's changing franchises was in search of greater opportunity.

The media has had a go at Steve Smith for not declaring and putting Pakistan under more pressure. I would have thought the criticism would have been the chance he took with his declaration. Obviously he wanted a couple of wickets before the end of the third day and that worked, but he declared when there were 7 sessions to get 490. Even though that was a huge chase giving a team a target of 73 a session allows them to take all precautions. And as was seen, anyone can drop catches.

Waiting for Maddinson to score 1 and 0(or similar) and then the headline will be "but he can't be dropped for his home test". They'll wheel out Dave Warner or Steve Smith to say that the whole team's behind him and he's the hardest worker in the team while they're trying not to raise their eyebrows.

If the guy can't succeed in favourable conditions at home, he'll be eaten alive in India, so why prolong the agony for him? Yeah I know - it doesn't matter who we pick for India: it'll end in tears anyway. I don't really know what the answer is, but I know it's not Nick Maddinson. Perhaps Ashton Turner is worth a shot.

3rd ump is NSW?

Maddinson catch was a bump ball!
You obviously have no idea what a 'bump' ball is. The ball was not hit into the pitch and it was a clean catch, fingers under the ball as the TV angles showed. 50,000 people cheered when the replay came up on the screen and Misbah began walking, he knew he was out.

That's pretty damn ordinary form from S Smith... toughen up princess!
True, captains shouldn't be able to make requests to suit themselves. But it seems that attitude had already insinuated itself into international cricket, even Mark Taylor was saying good on him if he did convince the umpires to go off. I don't understand why Gould and Ravi would even entertain any request to go off early from him, which would only be to gain an advantage. Sure the weather was not helping Australia but everyone else has to suck it up.
