what does haddin have to do to get dropped, retire with grace haddin, your time is well and truly up.

selectors are piss weak, scared to make a tough decision, there are plenty of quality form players around, we have been lucky a couple of dominant performances by warner and smith, (and lyon at adelaide) have covered over what has been a below par performance.

nows the right time to make wholesale changes in time for the ashes series coming up, a soft couple of home tests where we are already 2-0 up v india. now is the time, dodgy, soft selectors.
All I can think of is the selectors want Haddin in the team to mentor Smith, him being such a young captain. And I bet selectors will also point out that the keeper also took 9 catches in Brisbane, so he's doing his job. Fact is though, since February he's scored less than 100 Test runs: as you say, the clock must surely be ticking. Unless he starts contributing with the bat, we'll need another keeper for England.

One more point here: I actually don't believe Smith NEEDS mentoring. He's got a very wise head on such young shoulders, and I reckon he's more than capable of standing on his own two feet as skipper.

Yep - He's cactus.

Get Hartley in.... Or even Paine for that matter. In saying that Hartley is already 32.

9 catches... he is just the keeper, its the bowlers who got the edges, 9 catches means nothing, any keeper would have caught them. his time is up and there are much better options around.

Mate - I agree entirely: I just wonder if the selectors are trying to think of reasons to keep him in the team. Surely if he does nothing with the bat in Melbourne and Sydney, it's time to tap him on the shoulder!!!!

its harder to get out of the side than in. the selectors are just scared to make a tough call, and while the results at home are going ok, they will be satisfied.

Paine never recovered from his finger injury and has been dropped by Tassie ... he's done too

Whiteman from WA is the next good thing

Whiteman, surpassed both of them. Need to blood kids while we can. Burns is the perfect example and time, 2-0 up, plays Two matches, hopefuly some ODI's at the World Cup, Whiteman around the squad also. I wouldn't be surprised if Travis Head and Jake Doran make the Ashes tour party, just to be around the squad.

I'm a massive fan of Head.

Kinda hoped we didn't get Carberry out, 27 off nearly 40 balls that's a quality import the Scorchers have there.
Sorta reminds me of a story I read recently about the 1979 World Cup final. The West Indies batted first and made nearly 300. In reply, England dug their own grave. Geoff Boycott took 17 overs to reach double figures, and Clive Lloyd later recounted how his team were a little disappointed when he got out :)

Well Carberry's meagre score made a few of our 'stars' look like spuds in comparison but Zampa ran out Richo in what should've been our last chance to win only to then hit a 6 on the 3rd to last ball to win the match!

The WACA pitch looked really slow tonight, seemed difficult to score runs.

Not sure about that... Just thought both sides bowled really well.

Lucky to get out of that, Zampa was nearly a villain what with slogging at the first two balls of the last over and getting Richardson run out. That six was out of nowhere but Zampa should have been out earlier when he gloved one through to Whiteman.
One of the few games where MOTM will come from the losing team with Behrendorrf's 4 wickets.
The Strikers lost 6/47 after being 3/92.

Yeah I only caught a bit of each innings, must've only noticed Laughlin's use of the slower ball.

Both sides did bowl well, that Behrendorf looks a decent prospect.

Strikers win again, but only just. Had Deadbacks mentality at the end, as in they did their best to try & lose.
I thought we were gone when Hodge got out & then Zamps run Richo out.

Damn it, i turned it off after Hodge got out although Gilchrist and Waugh will need a week to scrub the taste of arse out of their mouths how much they were sucking up to the scorchers.

Was listening on the radio as I was busy at the time, it was just as bad with Mickey Arthur & his co caller circle jerking over everything that Perth did right whilst cringing when the Strikers took a wicket & won the match.

It was pretty hard to listen to the Strikers/Stars call as well for the same reason.
