Two words: Darren Lehmann. The Aussie coach knows no other way except going for the win, so he'll be in Smith's ear encouraging him to set a target (assuming we don't get bowled out).
He won't give them a sniff, why give them a chance to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy? He will grind them and make sure next match at the SCG they are playing for nothing, the lads will break their spirit next Match and imparting heavy mental scars on this Indian team!

Nothing to do with this test, but interesting comment yesterday that MS Dohni's income for 2014 is $30 million US.

Former Indian captain Mohammed Azzarudin was reportedly worth over $96 mill US when he retired, although apparently much of it was believed to be income from shady deals , but regardless, MS must be well on track to eclipse that figure - mind boggling!

Even more interesting is that India generates something like 80% of total world cricket income, so even when their team's on field performance is below par they still have the politics of the game well and truly stitched up.

Currently lead by 329, guess we're going for the draw?
Considering we're going at about a run an over I think that's the case, not only is it boring as hell to watch we could easily put 20-30 on quick declare & give ourselves the best chance to take the 10 wickets to win.

Playing for the draw doesn't seem the Aussie way & it's not like India would chase 350 on a cloudy weather affected day.

Isn't it up to both captains to create a result? Dhoni is setting purely defensive fields and continued bowling the old ball.
