Ben Stokes confirmed as England's new Test captain. I think it's called accepting a poisoned chalice - he's got a massive task on his hands.

What's with the Australia A thing, and why is Travis Head in it as well as the Test squad? Has CA determined that playing in Sri Lanka provides more of a challenge than English county cricket?
Boland is in both, too.
In case they miss Tests they still get some cricket over there?

The to and froms may need to organise a match against the french, they never win anything!I read yesterday that England is touring the Netherlands in June. Given the form the Poms are in, you wouldn't write off a Dutch win or two.
Just received a text from a mate, telling me that N. Gilchrist of Kent hasn't exactly covered himself in glory with the bat of late. He's just registered 6 consecutive first class ducks, including 3 golden ducks. It'll be interesting to see if he can get off the mark in his next innings.
Well he certainly can't bat like his Aussie namesake......I hope that Mr Gilchrist can bowl.
Fair fightback from Bangladesh in the 2nd Test against Sri Lanka. Batting first, they slumped to 5 for 24. At stumps they're 5 for 277.
Speaking of which, England's first Test with Ben Stokes as captain starts next week. They're playing the Kiwis, so I expect their misery to continue for a bit longer yet .Sounds more like they're playing England
