If the poms had of batted like that in 2nd innings in Perth, its probably a 2-2 series. In terms of ability, with Australia's bowling injuries to Cummins, Hazlewood and Lyons, there isn't much between the sides. The real difference has been between the ears.

2 day test in Perth cost Cricket Australia approx $4m according to media reports and confirmed by CEO Tony Greenberg that it was in the ball park.

Given 90k+ turned up on the two days here vs 50k each day in Perth it might be close $10m compared to last year's record crowd of 373k v India.

Last year that beat the previous record of 350k over 6 days for the 3rd test in 1936-37 when Oz were 0-2 down and Bradman made 270 to win and eventually win the series 3-2.

The English commentators seem more excited than the players tbh what a terrible test didn't even get to stumps day two.
Perth and Melbourne - a combined total of 1699 deliveries. Less than 300 overs for 2 Test matches!!!!!

It was funny at times but in retrospect that was a disgraceful display from the outset, getting progressively worse throughout.

I am most disappointed with our second innings. That is where it was lost and our batters poor attitude was laid bare.

A yank correcting her error and acknowledging that cricket and in particular cricket fan and minor county player Dr Paul Hawkins has changed sports referring/umpiring across all sports around the world.

But its more than automating referring/umpiring calls. Its all the analytical data these Hawkeye type systems produce that coaches, players and analysts use to change coaching and tactics for all these different sports.

Last evening NINE News reported that the two day Test in Melbourne will cost CA 5 million. In this morning's press they put the figure at 10 million. Either way the MCG curator should be looking over his shoulder. I reckon the knives will be out.
