At least Root got his first century down under in 31 attempts to remove that asterisk from his record.

And the good thing for him is that it won't show Australia was missing three bowlers among the top half dozen who have dismissed him the most times - Cummins (11), Hazelwood (10) and Lyon (8). At least Starc (11) was there.

Ian Chappell said that if you can't dismiss a team with 3 fast bowlers why would you pick 4? Some odd selections coming back to put a little bit of pressure on Australia. Too clever by half.
