Is today “Day-Night” just to avoid playing tomorrow?

Wait. Were stomps called? I’m not watching it. Google just says it’s “Dinner”.

Historically test matches have always been played with a red ball and during the day, they are stopped before it gets too dark to ensure the batsmen can fairly see the ball.

So a while back they came up with an innovation to get more people following tests which was the "day night" test. Its played with a pink ball which can be seen both under sun and under lights and allows people to go after work, or to soak in the atmosphere of a big Friday or Saturday night at the cricket, something that was really popularised with T20s.

It also of course brings in the dinner break due to the later start.

Personally I think it has its place, especially in series which can use the extra hype, but I don't think it should ever be used in Ashes cricket, as in addition to the tradition of the series, it can advantage certain player types, especially the bowlers that get to roll in under lights. That said it is what it is, and they're doing it, so we all just enjoy it.

McCullum.Is a kiwi, they never get upset after a loss, even after they got cheated in that World Cup final they took it like good little losers.
That’s always been there problem when it comes to cricket, too nice.
Now it’s a completely different attitude when it comes to rugby.

I have just checked the Ashes’ record. Unbelievable.

In Australia, the last series have been: 5-0/4-0/4-0.

England last win in Oz was in January 2011 (a demolition at the SCG, but still).

In the UK, in the last three series, the overall record is: ENG 7-6 AUS.

McCallum is a Kiwi who is being paid big money to act like a Pom. He is a bookend to Ben Stokes who was also born in New Zealand but Captains of the Poms. To go with that Joffra Archer was born in Barbados WI and Brydon Carse was born in Eastern Cape South Africa. Beating the Poms is almost like beating a Rest of the World X!.
